[EICO] Need 6S6 bulb for Eico 377

Malcolm, I seem to recall that the 377 used a 3S6, 3 watt lamp, not a
6S6. Perhaps there was a production change, but in any event the
correct lamp is required in any R-C Wien bridge oscillator which uses
one. The rated voltage must also be correct as it effects the
resistance curve. 'xS6' lamps come in 120, 130, and other voltages.
Don't think of it as a lamp, but as a nonlinear resistor, and thus a
critical component.
One more thing. For anyone replacing one of these lamps in this sort of
oscillator, and the HP 200-series also comes to mind, I strongly suggest
using only a standard U.S.-sourced lamp if possible. A GE or equal.
Many Asian lamps with standard numbers in fact do not meet the original
prototype specs. Be aware of this also in radios with fussy series
heater strings.
