Ken is right.  I had similar experiences but did not fully 
realize what I was getting charged until I investigated what 
would be involved in selling a $2000 item on the bay.

Turned out to be more than I wished to share with the folk 
at the bay.  Then it dawned on me that the rate was the same 
for cheaper stuff too.

I have not used the bay for some time now and find I dont 
miss it.  Has not effected my selling and buying but it has 
helped the bottom line not to use it.
