Is there any out there willing to help these guys?
If we can come up with a G-5500 az-el rotor and a little
Extra I can ship it over at a discount with FedEx.

Hi Frosty

Hope everything is well on your side and the kids didn't tip over your
outhouse on Halloween.

We've been organizing a VHF-only DXpedition to Namibia scheduled for 5-19
January 2009. HB9Q and possibly two more European ops are coming down and
plans are for them to be joined by several ZS ops, so far ZS2GK, ZS5DJ,
ZS6AC, ZS6BUN, ZS6OB and ZS6WB. N7BHC has now also joined the team with a
goal of attempting the first ever trans-Atlantic 144 MHz QSO between V5 and
PY. The North Atlantic path has been attempted beween VE and EI with no
success as yet.

EME operation will be on 50, 144, 432 and 1296 MHz and we will also be doing
50 & 144 MHz meteor scatter back into South Africa.

Satellite operation will also be a major effort and we should be able to
work into South America on the LEO sayellites.

We have raised funds to custom-build a trailer that mounts the 144 MHz EME
array. The thing is pretty well finished but we need to raise funds for a
Yaesu G-5500 az-el rotator for the 144 MHz array. I wonder if you have any
contacts that might be able to help us out with this?

In return we can make the trailer available for your future DXpeditions down
here. It would be great to take it it to Lesotho if you have found a good
place to stay down there.

Let me know if you have any ideas. Time is getting very short for us.
