10/02/2005:  Rich, 9M2/G4ZFE, will soon be known as 9M2CNC. He just
received his new call and will use it for the first time during the WPX

10/02/2005:  YL2KL (Girts), YL2LY (Arvia) and YL2GM (Juris) will be QRV
February 10-22nd as 9Y4/homecall from the QTH of 9Y4ZC on Tobago Island
(SA-009). Activity will be on all bands CW, SSB and RTTY. Juris and
Girts plan to participate in the CQ WW RTTY WPX and ARRL DX CW contests
respectively as 9Y4W. QSLs for the CQ WW RTTY WPX contest (February
12-13th) go via YL2GM. QSLs for the ARRL DX CW contest (Feb 19-20th) go
via YL2KL. QSLs for 9Y4/YL2GM, 9Y4/YL2KL and 9Y4/YL2LY go via their home

10/02/2005:  Francois F5JNE, Maurice F5IYU, and possibly Gerard F6ICG,
will be QRV February 10th as F5JNE/p from the Castle of Puell Montier
(DFCF reference 52-005, for the French Castles Award) and the Mill of
Lutin (DMF reference 52-002, for the French Mills Award). Both
references are located in the Canton of Montier En Der (52-18, CP

10/02/2005:  Dave Cree, G3TBK, is now active until March 14th as J88DR
from the island of St. Vincent (IOTA NA-109). Activity will be on all
bands 1.8 to 28MHz, mainly on CW and RTTY, but with a little SSB,
looking for UK. He will be entering the ARRL CW and SSB DX Contests and
also the RSGB Commonwealth Contest. On non-contest weekends he will look
for UK stations on 14165kHz and 18155kHz SSB from 14:00 to 17:00 UTC if
conditions are suitable. On weekdays do not expect operation between
12:00 and 21:30 UTC. Each evening from 22:00 UTC he will be on CW or

10/02/2005:  Bob, NF7E (V31WR) Art, NN7A (V31JZ) will operate from South
Water Caye, Belize (IOTA NA-180), February 10-14th. This will be a
two-person operation with 100 watts, a vertical and wire antennas.
Operation will be CW on 40-10 meters including the WARC bands; some 80m
and 160m is possible. Some SSB is possible on 20 and 15 meter IOTA
frequencies, if conditions are permitting. NA-180 was opened as a new
IOTA by Art and Mike Sharp, NG7S / V31RL, in February, 1993. This will
be Art's 5th operation from South Water Caye, and his 11th trip to

11/02/2005:  An international team, presently consisting of Marco
CE6TBN, Mario CE6NE, Zoli HA1AG, Bruce KD6WW and Mike K9AJ, will be
active February 11-15th from Rennel Island, Ultima Esperanza Province
South group (IOTA SA-NEW!). Activity will be on 80 through 10 meter SSB
and CW. The pilots will be Cezar VE3LYC (EU and NA) and Gou JA1QXY (AS

09/02/2005:  Jean Michel, F5PRR/p plans to be QRV February 11th to
reactivate the Castle of Stanislas (DFCF reference 55-019, for the
French Castles Award, CP 55-200, DDCF 55-05 Canton of Commercy).
Activity will be on 20 and 15 meter SSB, starting around 09:30 UTC. QSL

11/02/2005:  Vidar, LA2SNA, reports that he will be active February
11-15th as 3Y2SNA from the Norwegian Antartic "Troll Station" located at
72°00 S - 02°32 E (New One for Antarctica Award) on Jutulsessen,
Gjelsvik Mountains, Queen Maud Land (AN-016). He operates when spare
time permits with a FT 857 (100W), homebrew dipole for 17 and 20 meters
and/or 1/4L homebrew vertical for the same bands, Z100 autotuner. Vidar
says "I will only do SSB. QSL via LA2SNA, Norwegian Radio Relay League
(NRRL), or through the bureau. I am NOT a very experienced operator,

11/02/2005:  Take, JI3DST, will be active February 11th as JI3DST/JI3
from O-Shima Island (IOTA AS-117, JIIA AS-117-005), Kushimoto-Cho
Nishimuro-Gun Wakayama. He will be QRV on 40, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meter
SSB and CW (for JA) and 15 meter SSB and CW (for DX). QSL via home call

11/02/2005:  A group of operators from Peru, Germany and EE.UU will be
QRV February 11-13th as OC4P from Pachacamac Island (IOTA SA-052).
Activity will be on 80 through 6 meter SSB and CW. The QSL manager for
the operation is DL5WM (Jeff Gerth, Obere Dorfstrasse 13 A, D-09648

12/02/2005:  Members of the Canary Islands DX Society will be active
from Burrero Rock (IOTA AF-004) as EF8BDX, February 12-13th. Burrero
Rock is valid for the Spanish Islands Award (D.I.E) S-349, the D.M.E.
35.011 and the Grid Locator: IL27HV. Activity will be on 15 meters SSB
only. The team that is activating AF-004 are licensed EC8 operators.
They are restricted to only operate below 21200 kHz, but will also be
split sometime TX 21200 and RX 21300 +/- 5 kHz for restricted operators
in the IARU Zone 2. QSL Manager is EC8ADU Dunia (more details on

12/02/2005:  VU2INA (Inarappan), VU2VIT (Vittal) and VU3IRH (Ibrahim)
plan to be QRV February 12th from the Mamallapuram lighthouse (ARLHS
reference IND-011). No other details were given. Listen on the usual
ARLHS frequencies and watch for dx spots. QSL via operator's

13/02/2005:  Rich, PA0RRS, will be QRV February 13-26th as 9M6/PA0RRS/8
from Sarawak (IOTA OC-088), East Malaysia. QSL via home call, direct

15/02/2005:  Tom, W2SC, will be QRV February 15-21st as 8P9JG from Warle
igh Plantation, Barbados (IOTA NA-021). Activity will be CW only on
non-WARC bands. He will also be active as 8P5A in the ARRL DX CW Contest
(February 19-20th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via

15/02/2005:  Dave, K3LP, will be active February 15-22nd from St. Lucia
(IOTA NA-108). Look for him to sign J6R in the ARRL DX CW Contest
(February 19-20th) as a Single-Op/Low-Power entry. For activity before

15/02/2005:  Operators Jeff - KU8E, Mike - W9RE, Harold - N4GG and
Mark - N5OT will be active from Bonaire (IOTA SA-006) between February
15-22nd. The team will be active as PJ4R for the ARRL DX CW Contest
(February 19-20th) as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via N4GG. For activity before

15/02/2005:  Bill N4ES, and Rich N4ESS will be QRV February 15-21st as
WP2Z from St. Croix, USVI (IOTA NA-106). Activity will be on 160-10
meters and they will also participate in the ARRL DX CW Contest

16/02/2005:  John, K9EL, plans to operate from French St. Martin (IOTA
NA-105, DIFO FS-001) as FS/K9EL between February 16th and 26th. He will
be on holiday with his family, but they are very understanding for his
need to be on the radio! John will be active during the ARRL DX CW
Contest to hand out multipliers but not as a serious entry. He will be
using a vertical for 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meters and will string some
wires for 40 and 30 meters, and if possible 80 meters as well. A 160m
operation is very unlikely. He will only use 100w, no amplifier. No PSK

16/02/2005:  Lars, SM0CCM, will be active from Dominica (IOTA NA-101) as
J73CCM between February 16th and March 14th (for the 6th time). Activity
will be on all bands, mostly CW and RTTY, but also some PSK and SSB. QSL
to his home call SM0CCM. ADDED NOTE: He states that he will probably be
active for a few days from the Caribbean Indian Territory as J70SWD (See

16/02/2005:  Look for Bill, W9VA, to be active as PY0FF from Fernando de
Noronha (IOTA SA-003) during the ARRL DX CW Contest (February 19-20th).
His operating class is to be announced later. Bill will be on Fernando
de Noronha, February 16-22nd. Before and after the contest, he will be
mostly on the WARC bands and 6 meters using his personal callsign

16/02/2005:  Bill, VK4FW, plans to be active as VK4FW/p from Little
Solitary Island (IOTA OC-194) February 16-22nd. QSL direct to his home

17/02/2005:  The 3Y0X team members are scheduled to depart Punta Arenas
February 7th. The 3Y0X activity from Peter I Island is expected to take
place between February 17th and March 3rd, depending on weather. Nine
stations will be active on the following suggested frequencies: CW:
1822.5, 3523, 7023, 10103, 14023, 18073, 21023, 24893 and 28023 kHz;
SSB: 1842.5, 3750, 7073, 14190, 18165, 21295, 24987 and 28475 kHz;
Digital: 10148, 14088, 18105, 21100, 24949 and 28092 kHz. These
frequencies have been chosen to allow the team to occasionally activate
as many as three stations on one band at the same time, in order to take
full advantage of openings. There will be four pilot stations, namely
Don Greenbaum/N1DG (don at goldtel.net, for North & South America), Klaus
Wagner/DL1XX (dl1xx at gmx.net, for Europe, Africa & Middle East), Toshi
Kusano/JA1ELY (ja1ely at bb.mbn.or.jp, for the Pacific Rim & Asia), Lee
Jennings/ZL2AL (leejen at paradise.net.nz, for Australia & New Zealand).
