14/04/2005:  Alex, RX3AJL, is active until April 22nd as RX3AJL/p from
some of the islands in the Kara Sea. He will visit Vaygach Island (IOTA
EU-086, RRA RR-06-01), Tsinkovy (RRA RR-New) and Karpovy Islands (RRA
RR-New). Activity will be on 20 meters with 5 watts, but mainly 100
watts from the new island references. QSL via home call, direct or

15/04/2005:  During the Preparatory Central European IARU R1 meeting,
Croatia, the Island of Murter (Not IOTA, CIA-28, IOCA CI-074), will be
activated using the call 9A0IARU between April 15th and 17th. QSL via

15/04/2005:  Dave, G4WFQ, will be active April 15-29th as C6AWF from
Treasure Cay, Abaco Island (IOTA NA-080). Activity will be on 80 through
10 meters, including WARC, mostly CW and RTTY, with some SSB. Online

15/04/2005:  Operators DL4HG, DL7AT, DH9JK, DG7TG, DG3XA and DJ5KK will
be active April 15-17th as DF0CB from Helgoland Island (IOTA EU-127, GIA
N-14). Activity will be on 80-10 meters using a dipole and 20 meter GP,

16/04/2005:  Francois, F5JNE and Claude F5MCC will be active April 16th
as F5JNE/p from the Barre Castle (DFCF 45022) in the City of Nogent sur
Vernisson (Zip code 45290), Department of Loiret (45). Look for them on
40 meter CW and SSB starting at 06:00 UTC. QSL to F5JNE via the bureau.

16/04/2005:  South Chesire ARS members Pete G4RRM, Chris G0RDK, Ken
M0DQS and Geoff 2E0UNI will be active April 16-23rd as GM6TW/p from the
Isle of Jura (IOTA EU-008, IOSA NH-21, SCOTIA CS-28). Activity will on
160-20 meter CW, SSB and some digital modes. The main frequency will be
14.260MHz. Other ones on SSB are 28.560, 28.460, 24.950, 21.260, 18.128,
7.055 and 3.755MHz. The CW frequencies are 28.040, 24.920, 21.040,
18.098, 14.040, 10.115 and 3.530MHz. No specific frequency has been
nominated for 7MHz CW but it is recommended that operations should
include a frequency above 7.025 when the band is open to North America.

16/04/2005:  Rosel DL3KWR, and Hardy DL3KWF, will be active April
16-29th as SV9/DL3KWR and SV9/DL3KWF from Crete (IOTA EU-015, MIA
MGC-005). They plan to operate mostly on the WARC bands, 80 meters and

17/04/2005:  Look for ZW6FSM to be active April 17-18th from the Fort
São Marcos (DFB reference BA-05). Activity will be CW only on 80,

18/04/2005:  Sigi, DL7DF, will be active April 18-25th from Ghana, on a
one man operation. Activity will be on 160-10 meters CW only with a
little SSTV. He will have a 700w amp with a beam and dipole antennas.

18/04/2005:  Jan, SM7NGH/p and Fred SM7DAY/p will be active April

19/04/2005:  Jaak, ES1FB, will be active April 19-29th as EX/ES1FB from

19/04/2005:  Oleg, ES1RA, will be active April 19th to May 17th as

19/04/2005:  John K3CT and his wife Susan N3DVF will be vacationing and
operating from St. Croix (IOTA NA-106) between April 19-26th. They will
be able to operate on all bands CW and SSB. They will use the calls
KP2/K3CT and KP2/N3DVF. QSL both callsigns via K3CT, either direct or by

19/04/2005:  Serge, F5FAB, and the Millau ARC, will be active from the
Viaduc of Millau France using the special call TM7VM as follows: from
April 19 to May 1st, June 6th to 18th, July 10th to 24th, August 14th to
28th, October 16th to 30th, November 11th to December 6th and December
17th to 31st. Activity will be on all HF bands, CW and SSB. QSL via

20/04/2005:  Look for ZW6FSM to be active April 20-21st from the Fort

21/04/2005:  Nicola, I0SNY, reports that he will be active again as JT1Y
from Mongolia between April 21st and May 10th. He also plans to operate

22/04/2005:  Operators DK8MIL, DK7JAN, DO9BS, DG9BTX and DJ9MD will be
active April 22-26th as DF0TM from Usedom Island (IOTA EU-129, GIA
O-13). Activity will be on 14.260 MHz and other HF bands. They will also

27/04/2005:  Frédéric, HB9CQK, will be active April 27 to May 8th as
S79QK from Denis Island (IOTA AF-024) and Alphonse Island (IOTA AF-033).
Activity will be on the 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meter SSB IOTA frequencies
with a IC-706MKIIG, 100 watts, and a 40 meter delta loop antenna. The

01/05/2005:  Stefan, DB3LSP, will be QRV May 1-14th as OZ/DB3LSP from
Sjaelland Island (IOTA EU-029, DIA SJ-001 for the Danish Islands Award).
Activity will be mainly CW, but he will also use SSB and PSK-31. QSL via

01/05/2005:  Special call UE6LLL will be active May 1-5th from
Kamensk-Shahtinsky City (RDA reference RO-16 for the Russian Districts

02/05/2005:  Wolf DL3DRN and Al DJ5AA will be vacationning on Rodos (aka
Rhodes) Island (IOTA EU-001, MIA MGD-028) from May 2-16th. They will
also activate the Nisos Rodos (Rhodes Island-main) lighthouse (WLOTA

06/05/2005:  Special call UE6LLL will be active May 6-10th from the
Tsimljansky Area (RDA reference RO-64 for the Russian Districts Award),

07/05/2005:  Ralf/DH7NO and Ric/DL2VFR will be QRV May 7-8th as
homecall/p and DA0GLH from Usedom Island (IOTA EU-129 GIA O-13) and the
Karnin lighthouse (TWLH DL-014, ARLHS FED 274). Look for activity on all

29/06/2005:  Dick, K5AND, will be QRV at the end of June as J3/K5AND
from the island of Grenada (IOTA NA-024). Activity will be on 6 meters
with a single long yagi and kw and 2 meters with a single 5wl yagi or a
group of 4 yagis combined with a kw amp on ssb/cw and 500w on digital
modes. There will be a 2m EME operation. No skeds will be taken. The
location is on the far north point of the island giving an excellent
take off to Europe and the USA on 6meter. Several other operators will

SPECIAL EVENTS -

14/04/2005:  To commemorate the Great partisan Jean Moulin's action
during WWII, the F6KEH ARC will be active as TM9JM until April 17th. HF
CW/Phone. This activity is part of the official Ceremonies in the town

18/04/2005:  For the "Printemps de Bourges", one of the biggest cultural
weeks in France, the Bourges ARC will be active as TM5PDB, from April
18th to 24th. Activity will be on all HF and VHF bands on CW, SSB and

25/04/2005:  To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of
Oleron Island (IOTA EU-032, DIFM AT-025), Jean-Paul, F5BZK (ex XE1BZK)
will be active as TM6IO from April 25th to May 8th. QSL via F5BZK. [Tnx

01/05/2005:  At the request of Radio Amateurs of Canada, Industry Canada
has authorized all Canadian radio amateurs to use special event prefixes
for the month of May, 2005, to mark the opening of the new Canadian War
Museum in Ottawa on May 8th, coincident with the 60th anniversary of VE
Day. The official opening of the new Canadian War Museum in  Ottawa, the
national capital of Canada, on May 8th, coincides with the 60th
anniversary of Victory in Europe Day -- VE Day -- which, on May 8, 1945,
officially ended the Second World War in Europe. The year 2005 has been
declared "The Year of the Veteran" by the Canadian government in
recognition and commemoration of the determination, service and
sacrifice of Canada's WW II veterans. Canadian radio amateurs are
authorized to use the following special event prefixes during the period
May 1-31st, 2005, inclusive: CF for VA stations; CG for VE stations; CH
for VO stations; CI0 for VY0 stations; CI1 for VY1 stations; and CI2 for

03/05/2005:  The F6KIF ARC will be active from May 3-17th as TM8MAI to
commemorate the 60th anniversary of the treaty signed in Reims on May 7,
1944, and published on the 8th, ending WWII. Look for activity on all

05/05/2005:  Special event station CF3VEDAY will operate from May 5 to
May 12 inclusive to celebrate the opening of the new Canadian War Museum
in Canada on May 8, a date which coincidentally is the 60th anniversary
of Victory in Europe Day (VE-DAY). In addition, 2005 has been declared
Year of the Veteran. All Radio Amateurs are asked to observe these
important events by working the Special Event station and inviting
Veterans into their radio shacks. This is the first time that a 5-letter
suffix has been issued for Amateur Radio in Canada. For more
