Island (Tamil Nadu State, AS-173) will go QRT earlier than planned.

26/08/2004:  Jan, DL7JAN and Andreas, DL3GA will be active from August
26th to September 7th from Kandooma Island (South Male Atoll - IOTA
AS-013) as 8Q7JF (DL7JAN) and 8Q7GA (DL3GA). They will be active on 80
through 10 meters on CW/SSB and RTTY! There may be some PSK31. QSL via

26/08/2004:  Mike, UA1QV, will be active August 26, 2004, as UE1RDA/m
and UE1RDA/3/m from the Vologodsky Area (RDA reference VO-12, for the

Christmas Tree Island (USI VA-New), located on Smith Mountain Lake in
Virginia. Activity will be on 80, 40 and 20 meters, starting 11:00 UTC
August 28th and ending 23:00 UTC August 29th. Look for the Station on or

29/08/2004:  George, K3GV will be active between August 29th and
September 12th as K3GV/VY2 from Prince Edward Island (IOTA NA-029, CIsA
PE-001). Activity will be on 15 and 20 meters, around the usual IOTA

29/08/2004:  Mike, UA1QV, will be active August 29 - 30, 2004, as
UE1RDA/3/m from the Oktjabr'sky Area (RDA reference KS-22, for the
Russian Districts Award), the Vohomsky Area (RDA KS-11), the Pyshchugsky
Area (RDA KS-27), Kostromskaya oblast (KS). He will also sign UE1RDA/m
from the Nikol'sky Area (RDA VO-19), and possibly from the
Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky Area (RDA VO-17), the Velikoustjugsky Area (RDA
VO-09) and the Njuksensky Area (RDA VO-20), Vologodskaya oblast (VO). He

30/08/2004:  Look for Tom, OY/DL2RMC and Heiko, OY/DL1RTL to be QRV
August 30th to September 9th from the Faroe Islands (EU-018). Activity
will be on 160 through 6 meter CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK and SSTV. QSL via

01/09/2004:  Members of the Wrexham and District Amateur Radio Society
will be operating from the Isle of Man (IOTA EU-116) during the period
of September 1st to 8th. The site that will be used is Scarlett Point, a
discontinued Coast Guard lookout tower, approx 1.5 miles South of
Castletown, Isle of Man (WW Loc. IO74PB, WAB SC26). Activity will be on
all HF Bands, 50 MHz, 70MHz, 144MHz and 432 MHz, at full UK power. The
team plans to operate simultaneously on 3 HF Bands (CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK
and some SSTV) and 1 VHF Band. They also plan a high level of activity
on the lower HF Bands with particular attention being paid to 160 and 80
meters. Stations will use a combination of aerials, including Phased
Arrays, Yagi's and Quads at heights of 40 - 100 Feet. Callsigns will be:
GB4IOM and GB4SPT. Some operations from the island's mountain will take
place, conditions permitting, for SOTA devotees. QSL via the Bureau or
direct to M1LCR (Further details and a P.O. Box address will be issued
later). A number of awards are planned for working the station, either
multiband/multi mode or a combination, and QSLs will be available for
SWLs. Further press releases will be issued on the following dates:

05/09/2004:  Matt, KB8KNM, and Dan, KB8UYZ, will activate the rare Grid
EN67, from Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, September 5th. And for the
county hunters, that's Keweenaw County. Listen for K8C on 80 through 2
meter SSB. Dan reports that this is just a one day operation. They will
be operating from a cliff overlooking Lake Superior. Nice spot. This
will be their first trip to EN67, and if all goes well, they do plan
additional (operations), longer ones in the future. QSL direct via Dan,

be on 40, 20 and 15 meter SSB, between 08:00 and 17:00 UTC. QSL via home

14/09/2004:  Albert, IT9MRM, will be QRV September 14 - 15, 2004, as

CL-009). Activity will be on 40, 20 and 15 meter SSB, starting 14:00 UTC
September 14 until 12:00 UTC September 15. QSL via home call, direct

18/09/2004:  JQ3DUE/4S7DUG, will lead a group of japanese hams to Sri
Lanka (AS-003) between September 18th and 23rd. Activity will be on 160
through 6 meters, with emphasis on the lower bands. They have planned to
run 4 stations all day long. QSL via operator's instructions. [Tnx

20/09/2004:  Look for Ramon EA2RU, Iñigo EA2BXV and Roberto EA2RY
to be QRV betwen September 20th and 30th as CT9R from Madeira Island
(IOTA AF-014, DIP MA-001, Grid IM12). Activity will be on 80 through 10
meter SSB and mainly in digital modes. They will also participate in the

27/09/2004:  Albert, IT9MRM, will be QRV September 27 - 28, 2004, as
IH9/IT9MRM from Pantelleria Island (IOTA AF-018, IIA TP-001, MIA

SPECIAL EVENTS -

04/09/2004:  September 2004 is the 90th anniversary of the First Battle
of the River Marne during the WWI. Jerome, F5ASD and the F8KFK and F6KQA
ARS members, will be QRV September 4th and 5th using the special
callsign TM5BDM. This event is full part of the Souvenir commemoration.
Activity will be on HF, VHF and UHF bands. QSL via F5ASD, either direct

17/09/2004:  Industry Canada authorizes Special Event Callsign with 4
character suffix for QCWA convention. QCWA National Capital Chapter 70
has been authorized by Industry Canada to use the special event call
sign VE3QCWA from September 17, 2004, through October 17, 2004, for the
QCWA International Convention that will be held in Ottawa 15-16-17
October, sponsored by National Capital Chapter 70. Although a QCWA
convention, the Convention in Ottawa will be open to all radio amateurs.
