05/08/2004: Special event station, N9L, will be operating from several
lighthouses along the Door Peninsula of Wisconsin from August 5th to
14th, including activation of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse (USA-252)
during the National Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend on Saturday and Sunday,
August 7-8th. The will also activate the Chambers Island lightouse
(ARLHS USA-150) August 11th. Jim, W5AZN (ARLHS #484) and Patty, W5AZO
(ARLHS #485) will be active at a different lighthouse for a few hours
each day between 14:00-21:00 UTC. Frequencies will be centered on 14270
or 7270 kHz (+/-). A QSL for each lighthouse as well as a certificate
representing all of the lighthouses will be available to confirmed

06/08/2004: Sven, DD6VSF will be QRV August 6th to 8th as DD6VSF/p from
Scharhoern Island (IOTA EU-127, GIA N-11 for the German Islands Award).
Activity will be on 40, 20 and 17 meter SSB and PSK31. QSL via home

06/08/2004: Alex, UT3UZ, and other ten operators will operate as EM0U/p
from Chernobyl between August 6th and 8th. Activity will be on 160

06/08/2004: ARI Ancona will operate special station IY6GM from Monte
Cappuccini (WAIL MA-003, ARLHS ITA-104, WW Loc. JN63SO) between August
6th and 10th. The activity will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the
experiments carried out by Guglielmo Marconi from that place. QSL via

06/08/2004: Tack, JE1RXJ will be QRV August 6th to 8th as NB6A/KH2 from
Guam (OC-026). Activity will be on 160 through 6 meter SSB, CW and RTTY,
with an emphasis on 6 and 160 meters and the WARC bands. QSL via home

06/08/2004: Franz, DK1II (ZL2III), will be active from Port Vila,
Vanuatu (OC-035), between August 6th and 15th. He plans work mainly on
CW on 40 through 10 meters, depending on propagation. Franz has applied
for the callsign, YJ0II, but this is not confirmed yet. Please QSL via

07/08/2004: Look for Gian, I1ASU/p, and Fabrizio IK1SUB/p to be QRV
August 7th, starting 06:00 till 12:00 UTC, from the lighthouse Faro Capo

07/08/2004: Max IK1GPG, Betty IK1QFM and Franco I6DHY will be QRV
August 7th from the lighthouse Faro Capo Delle Melle (WAIL LI-003, ARLHS

07/08/2004: The Old Barney Amateur Radio Club (N2OB) will be operating
from the Barnegat Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-039, IOTA NA-111, USI NJ-001S)
August 7th (rain date is August 8th). Operation will be primarily on 20
and 40 meter SSB from about 13:00 UTC to 22:00 UTC. QSL via N2OB

07/08/2004: Goran, SM0CMH, will be QRV August 7th to Septemeber 4th as
SV5/SM8C from Kalymnos (EU-001). Activity will mainly be on 80 through

08/08/2004: Jerome, F5ASD, will be QRV August 8th to 15th as F5ASD/p
from the Cap Frehel lighthouse (DPLF PB-087 for the French Lighthouse
Award, ARLHS FRA-085, DEPT 22). Activity will be on 80 through 10
meters, using a Yaesu FT-100 and 100 watts. QSL via home call, direct or

09/08/2004: Peter, GM3OFT, expects to be active August 9th and 10th as
GM3OFT/p from Barra Island (IOTA EU-010, IOSA OH-11, SCOTIA HI-02).

09/08/2004: Gigi, IK2UVR, will be active August 9th or 11th as
MM/IK2UVR/p, at the moment hour not known, from Great Cumbrae Island
(IOTA EU-123, IOSA CL-03, SCOTIA CS-17, WAB NS15 North Ayrshire).
Activity will be on 20 meter SSB (+/- 14.260 Mhz). QSL via home call,

09/08/2004: Steve, W3HF, will be active as W3HF/4 from Bogue Banks
Island (IOTA NA-112, USI NC-010S, Grid Loc. FM14, Carteret County),
North Carolina, from August 9th to 15th. Operation will be QRP on 40
through 15 meters. Equipment will be a vertical and a Yaesu FT-817.
Primary mode will be PSK, with some SSB possible. (Steve requests that
stations who want to schedule an SSB contact e-mail him before the trip
at w3hf at arrl.net) This operation qualifies for the APE (August PSK
Expedition) endorsement from the PODXS 070 Club

of 6m (PSK and/or SSB) operation, from either Steve or his ten-year-old

10/08/2004: Bill KG4DX (W4WX), member of the Florida DXPedition Group,
will be at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (NA-015) August 10th to 14th. Bill will
operate from the GTMO club station. Look for him on SSB, RTTY, and

11/08/2004: Carlo, I4ALU, plans to be QRV August 11th to 24th from
Bonaire Island (SA-006). Activity will be on 40 through 10 meter CW. QSL

11/08/2004: Aki, JA1KAJ, will be active August 11th to 16th as V73V

07/08/2004: Look for special event station VI3JA to be activated by the
members of the Central Goldfield ARC, August 7th and 8th. Activity is to
celerbrate the 150th year of the naming of the Township of Maryborough
Victoria, Australia. Operations will be mainly on 3789 kHz SSB and 20
meter SSB, RTTY and PSK. QSL via VK3JA, direct or bureau. [Tnx OPDX]
20/08/2004: From August 20 to 25, 2004, in the honor of the 13th
anniversary of the independence of the Ukraine the following stations
will be activated with special callsigns: EO13W - UR4WWE, EO0UD -
UR4UWS, EO13ID - US7IGF, EO13IM - UX8IXX, EO13F - UR5FEO, EO13FA -
UT2FA, EO13FHY - UX5HY, EO13FFC - UR5FFC, and EO13FY - UX0FY. QSL via

04/09/2004: September 2004 is the 90th anniversary of the First Battle
of the River Marne during the WWI. Jerome, F5ASD and the F8KFK and F6KQA
ARS members, will be QRV September 4th and 5th using the special
callsign TM5BDM. This event is full part of the Souvenir commemoration.
Activity will be on HF, VHF and UHF bands. QSL via F5ASD, either direct
