the Roter Sand lighthouse (WLH LH-0396, DLD/GLA 44, ARLHS FED 019, Loc.
JO43au), between July 10th and 14th, using the call sign DA0LRS. Activity
will be on all HF bands, SSB and CW - as long as they will have power (there

Russian Districts Award). Activity will be SSB only, on 14.180 and 7.080

11/07/2003: Nunzio, IT9DTU/p, plans to be QRV July 11th from Forte
Ogliastri di Messina (DCI reference ME-112, for the Italian Castles Award).
This operation also counts for Scicily (IOTA EU-025, IIA SC-001). Forte
Ogliastri is located in the Region of Sicilia, Province of Messina (ME).

11/07/2003: Mike K9AJ, Jim K9PPY and maybe Susan K9XYL will be active from
several islands in the Canadian Province of Nunavut. The callsigns will be
K9AJ/VY0 and K9PPY/VY0. K9XYL/VY0 might also be QRV. It is possible that
some activity might occur from Cornwallis Island (NA-009, CIsA NT-004)
and/or Baffin Island (NA-047, CIsA NT-001) during the time period July 11th
through 26th, so pay attention to the QTH info given by the operator. Usual

11/07/2003: PACIFIC TOUR! The operators will be Barry ZS1FJ (aka G4MFW and
ZL1MFW), Deon ZS1ZL and Phil G3SWH. They will use FO/G4MFW (SSB and RTTY,
QSL via ZS1FJ) and FO/G3SWH (CW, QSL via G3SWH) as follows: July 11th
through 14th from Tubuai (OC-152), Austral Islands; July 15th through 22nd
from Mangareva (OC-063), French Polynesia; and July 23rd through 24th from
Tahiti (OC-046), French Polynesia. A short operation may also take place
from Rurutu (OC-050) in the Austral Islands. Around July 25th and 26th they
will be on Great Barrier Island (OC-201), New Zealand. Announced frequencies
are: 3795, 7095, 14195, 18145, 21295, 24945 and 28495 kHz (SSB); 1830, 3505,
7005, 10105, 14025, 18075, 21025, 24895, and 28025 kHz (CW); 14075, 18102,
21085, 24922 and 28075 kHz (RTTY). Four pilot stations (namely G3XTT, W0DM,
KH6FKG and ZS1AU) have been appointed to assist the expedition members in

12/07/2003: Paul, A35RK, reports that Mike KM9D (aka T21MY), Jan KF4TUG
(aka T2YL), himself, and his wife Va'inga will be visiting with Jytte Jarl,
3D2AJ, and her husband Arnold, at their home on Vanua Levu (OC-016). They
will be there from July 12th through to the 21st. Mike and Jan, who have
been sailing around the Pacific the last two years, may stay longer on Fiji.
Anyway, Paul states he will be active, on a casual basis, from Vanua Levu,
using his Fiji callsign, 3D2RK. This is a holiday for them, not a DXpedition
operation, but there will be equipment and antennas available to them. Mike
and Jan may also be active from the same QTH, but Paul doesn't know their

12/07/2003: "C I A - Istria 2003" DXpedition is being organized by the
President of CIHG and WLH checkpoint Kresimir 9A7K and Franjo 9A2MF. They
will be active from many Croatian lighthouses and islands between July 12th
and 20th. During this activity they will use the following callsigns: 9A7K,

UTC, July 12th. They will be operating 40 through 10 meters, plus 2 meters,

13/07/2003: Mike, K9AJ, and Jim, K9PPY, will activate Somerset Island
(NA-new, CIsA NT-new), Nunavut, from July 13th to 20th. They may have two
stations on the air, depending on conditions. As there will be no sunset
(>500 miles north of Arctic Circle), they plan no activity below 40m on this
trip. Callsigns will be K9AJ/VY0 and K9PPY/VY0. K9XYL/VY0 might also be QRV.
After Somerset Island, K9AJ/VY0 will be QRV from Southampton Island (NA-007,
CIsA NW-010) from July 22nd to 24th. It is possible that some activity might

13/07/2003: Igor Slakva, VE3YDX (ex-US1IDX) will be QRV July 13th, for
about 10 or 12 days, from Dutch Sint Maarten as PJ7/VE3YDX. He also hopes to
be active as a mobile from FS part of the Island. Igor is on vacation with
his family so operating may be somewhat limited from his usual style. He

Islands, Alaska. Operation is scheduled for 02:00 UTC July 15th until 15:00
UTC July 17th. They will be QRV from Summit Island (USI AK-140, 3rd South
Central District, Loc. AO98vu, Alaskan Bering Sea-Bristol Bay) in the Walrus
Islands group (IOTA NA-121). Activity will be on the favorite IOTA
frequencies using 40, 30, 20 and 15 meter SSB and CW. Call signs will be

15/07/2003: Vlad, UA1RG, and other members from Radio Club Vologda plan to
be active with two stations as R1PQ from Novaya Zemlya (IOTA EU-035, RRA
RR-04-01) for ten days between July 15th and 25th. Look for activity on on
CW (7010, 14020, 21020 and 28040 kHz) and SSB (7070, 14260, 21260 and 28300
kHz), with some PSK and RTTY as well. The operation is to commemorate all
those who participated (British, Russian and American) in the Polar Convoys

20/07/2003: Linda (VE9GLF) and Len (VE9MY) plan to arrive on the Iles de La
Madeleine (NA-038) July 20th and be operational for eight days. They will
have mobile and portable capabilities with 100 watts, beam, vertical for 10,
15, 20 metres and dipole for 40 metres. They are planning on doing two
islands per day depending on band conditions; during the IOTA Contest (July
26-27) they will operate with two stations. QSL via home calls either direct

22/07/2003: Steve AK0M and his wife Sandy will be active as C6ASB and
C6ASC, repectively, on Abaco Island (NA-080) between July 22nd and 30th.
This trip is primarily a family vacation, and he will be on the air as time
permits. However, he does mention he will do some participation in the RSGB
IOTA Contest (July 26-27th) as a Single-Op entry. Steve states this
operation will be low key, 100 watts (IC-706) and QRP (FT-817) to a vertical
from N4JQQ's old QTH, and a Buddipole from the beach. CW is his preferred
mode, but there may be some SSB, and maybe PSK31. QSL via his home callsign,

22/07/2003: Three members of the Florida DXpedition Group, Bill W4WX
(VP2MHX), William N2WB and Bob K9MDO (both waiting on VP2M callsign) will be
QRV from Montserrat (NA-103) between July 22nd and 29th. They will have
three Kenwood TS-570D stations and will be active on most bands and modes.

23/07/2003: The Madeira Team has the pleasure to annouce that there will be
a DXpedition to the Desertas Islands (AF-046) between July 23rd and 27th.
The main purpose of this trip is to mount a VHF repeater on the island,
which will increase the VHF coverage between all the islands in the Madeira
Archiplego. In the mean time they will activate the islands in SSB, CW and
RTTY, with the following data: July 23rd some of the crew will depart
Madeira Island during the morning, expecting to be active late in the
afternoon. On July 25th some members of the crew will arrive to help the
Team for the RSGB IOTA contest (July 26-27th). The callsigns will be CT9D
for CW / SSB and CT9M for RTTY. The operators will be CT3BD, CT3DL, CT3EE,
CT3IA, CT3EN, CT3IQ, CT3KY, CT3KU and DF4SA. Activity will be on all bands

on the 30th. The radio operation will take place mainly on the AO-40
satellite, but also on HF (20 through 10 meters), on SSB and RTTY modes. He

24/07/2003: The CY9A St. Paul Island (NA-094, CIsA NS-002, Grid FN97)
DXpedition team is now complete. The operation will take place from July
24th to August 2nd, with an entry in the IOTA Contest. The team members are
Robert N0RN, Vance N5VL, Igor W0IZ, Joe KO4RR, Andrea K5AAH (YL), Alan K5AB
and Dale VE7SV. They will be taking with them a Battle Creek Special and
will operate on the low bands during all openings. Operation will be on 160

from Benbecula (IOTA EU-010, IOSA OH04, WAB NF75), one of Scotland's Outer
Hebridean Islands, during the RSGB IOTA (Islands on the Air) contest. They

24/07/2003: Ove, LA2IJ, will be active as JX2IJ between July 24th and 31st
from Jan Mayen Island (EU-022). Activity will be mostly on RTTY, but also on

14083 and 21083 kHz; and for SSB on 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 meters depending

26/07/2003: VE8NET will be operating from Banks Island (NA-129) during the
IOTA contest, July 26-27, 2003. The call sign is from the Western Arctic
Amateur Radio Association. They have 5 confirmed operators and are looking
at five more. Operation will be on all HF bands plus 6 meters from the
community of Sachs Harbour. Modes will be packet, CW, SSB and satellite, so
