12/04/2003: Hugo, HB9AFH, and Uli, HB9CGA, will be active, possibly as
J3/HB9CGA, from Grenada (NA-024) between April 12th and 23rd. They plan to
operate on 80 through 10 meters, mainly CW with some SSB. QSL via HB9CGA,

12/04/2003: John, NC8V, reports that he will be conducting his usual
operation from the Little Cayman Island (NA-016) this year from April 12th
through April 19th. He will be using the callsign ZF2JC and will be
operating mostly SSB near the IOTA frequencies on 20, 15, 12 and 10 meters.
He will have a 6 meter antenna with him this year and will give that a try
if the band should open. QSLs should go to his home address at: 15100 E.

13/04/2003: Riccardo, IZ5EBL, and Rossella, IZ5BRO, will be active from the
Maldives (AS-013) between April 13th and 21st as 8Q7RL and 8Q7RC
respectively. Operation will be on 40 through 10 meter SSB, with some CW and

14/04/2003: Bill, G4EHT, will be visiting his son Dez, ZC4DW, between April
14th and 28th. Bill will be on a family holiday but hopes to schedule in
some time on HF CW. He will be operating from the Eastern Sovereign Base
club, Cyprus (AS-004), using their club callsign ZC4ESB. Please be patient

16/04/2003: Walter, IN3XUG, will be active as IC8/IN3XUG from Ischia
(EU-031, IIA NA-001) between April 16th and 27th. He plans to operate on 10,

16/04/2003: Peter, DL4AMK and his XYL will be QRV as OZ/DL4AMK from Aeroe
Island (IOTA EU-172, DIA FY-014) between April 16th and 21st. Activity will

16/04/2003: Jim, N6TJ, will be on the air again as ZD8Z from Ascension
Island (AF-003). He plans to work in SSB/CW on the WARC and lowbands btween

17/04/2003: Commemorative DXPedition To Waldegrave Island East (Part Of The
South Australia State West Centre Unactivated IOTA Group). Tom Marlowe
VK3ZZ, Peter Forbes VK3QI, Keith Proctor VK3FT and Jack Bramham VK3WWW with
on-shore "pilot" David McAulay VK3EW will be active from Waldegrave Island
East between April 17th and 22nd using the special call of VI5WCP. This will
be celebrating the historical naming of the island by Matthew Flinders
during his coastal exploration of 1802/03. A special bicentenary
commemorative QSL card will be prepared to celebrate this historical event.
They will be active on all bands except 160m, both SSB and CW. QSL will be
direct to Thomas Marlowe VK3ZZ, P.O. Box 368, Leongatha, Victoria 3953,
Australia, with a self-addressed envelope plus sufficient return postage,

18/04/2003: Look for Jim, K5JIM/p, to be QRV from Cape Hatteras lighthouse
(USA-119, WW Loc FM25fg), North Carolina, on April 18th, as part of the
official re-opening of the lighthouse to tours by the general public. This
operation also counts for Hatteras Island (IOTA NA-067, USI NC-005S, Dare

18/04/2003: In ancient times witches were believed to fly around Finland on
Easter eve. Nowadays amateur radio "witches" Jatta/OH2IO, Anne/OH2MXS and
Annika/OH2HSJ will "fly around" Finland with their pilot Lasse, OH1LQP
between April 18th to 20th. They plan to operate as OH2YLS(/#) on 80, 40,
20, 10 and 2 metres (possibly also 15m) SSB with some CW. QSL via bureau.
They also expect to be active as OH1LAG (QSL via OH2IO), OH6MXS (QSL via
OH2MXS) and OH4CNX (QSL via OH2HSJ). This will be a good chance to collect
points for the OH YL and the OH County Awards (rules at

18/04/2003: Mike, KA2AEV, reports that a group from the recently formed
Antigua & Barbuda Radio Club will be having a DXpedition to the sister
island of Barbuda (NA-100) over the Easter weekend (April 18 - 21). They
plan to operate 160 through 10 meters, plus localized 2 meter contacts, as
V21BBQ. The plan is to have three stations on HF and one on 2 meters. Mike
says, "To our knowledge, there has never been any ham activity from Barbuda.
It is the hope of this DXpedition to expose the residents to ham radio and
secondly, to familiarize the ham community with Barbuda." QSL requests

19/04/2003: Tad, JF6OJX (also 7N4AHT, KH7J), plans to be active April 19th
to 24th from Mana Island, Fiji (OC-121) as 3D2JX. Operation will mainly be

19/04/2003: John, F5VHQ (ex OE5TGL), will be active as 6W/F5VHQ from Saint
Louis du Senegal on 40 through 10 meter SSB between April 19th and May 1st.

19/04/2003: Carlos, CT1CSY/p, plans to be QRV April 19th from Guia
Lighthouse (DFP FES05 for the Portuguese Lighthouse Award, POR-024, WW Loc.

19/04/2003: Franck, F5JOT, Daniel, F5LGQ, and Claude/F6CKH will be active
April 19th to 26th from Chausey Island (EU-039). Their activity will be on

19/04/2003: Freddy, IZ1EPM, reports he will be active from Santa Teresa di
Gallura, Sardinia (IOTA EU-024, IIA SD-001 for the Italian Islands Award)
between April 19th and May 2nd. He plans to operate on 10-40m and to

20/04/2003: Gaby/OE8YDQ and Chris/OE8CIQ will be active from Malta (EU-023)
as 9H/homecall (but this could change, if they apply for a visitor's
license) between April 20th and 27th. This will be a holiday style
operation. Activity will be on 80-10 meters CW/SSB with 100 watts and a

20/04/2003: Francois, F8DVD, will once again be active from Spitzbergen
Island (EU-026). He will stay from April 20th to 24th, in Longyearbyen (Grid

24/04/2003: Ermanno, IK2WZD, reports he will be active on digital modes as
SV5/IK2WZD from Lipsi Island, Dodecanese (EU-001) from 24 April through the

24/04/2003: Bill, T88BA, is scheduled to go to all of the south-west
Islands of Palau (Sonsorol, Pulo Anna, Meriil and Tobi/Hatohobei, all
OC-248) for a week leaving April 24th, depending on local weather
conditions. He plans to be QRV around 14004 kHz CW and 14320 Khz SSB, with
possibly some 15 meter activity. Bill says that this time his workload
should be light so there should be a good bit of time for operating, but

25/04/2003: A special event station signing CS5E will be active April 25th
from Cabo Raso Lighthouse - reference DFP FES04 for the Portuguese
Lighthouse Award; POR-011. It will also be valid for the Portuguese Castles
and Fortresses Award - reference DCFP F141 - Forte de São
Brás. WW Locator IM58. Activity will be on 20, 15 and 10 meter, SSB.
QSL via qrz.com or bureau. Look for them near the World Lighthouse
Frequencies. Suggested SSB freqs (+/- 20 kc): 14.270, 21.370 and 28.370 MHz.

25/04/2003: Antonio IZ8CCW, Gianni IZ8CGS, and other members of the
Mediterraneo DX Club will be active April 25th to 27th as IB0DX from
Ventotene (EU-045, IIA LT-011, Loc JN60). Operation will be on 80 through 10

25/04/2003: Silvano, I2YSB, reports that the dates for the DXpedition to
Nuku Hiva, Marquesas (OC-027) are April 25th to May 9th. They will be using
the call TX4PG. The operators will be I2MOV, I2YSB, IK1AOD, IK1PMR, IK2DIA,
IK2GNW and IK2WXV. There will be 3 stations active on HF and one on 50 MHz.
The beacon on 50105 MHz band will be active every hour and every half hour

26/04/2003: Daniel Rivero, CX2TG, reports that CV1T will be QRV from the
lighthouse at Cabo Polonio (URU-005, WW Loc GF35) between April 26th and

26/04/2003: Take, JI3DST, will be active as JI3DST/6 from Miyako Island
(AS-079, Miyako-jima Hirara-City Okinawa-ken), between April 26th (07:00
UTC) and May 5th (00:00 UTC). Activity will be on 40, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6
meters, SSB. Take states he will be looking for Africa and South America
stations and DX stations on 6 meters. QSL ONLY via the bureau. [Tnx OPDX]
26/04/2003: The Calderdale Raynet Group' will be active from the Island of
Colonsay (IOSA NH19, IOTA EU-008, WAB NR39) from Saturday evening to
Thursday lunch-time, the 26th of April to the 1st of May 2003 inclusive.
There are no specific operating times at present but 20:30 UTC on 3.772 MHz
for IOSA will be attempted each day. All HF bands will be activated
depending on conditions. The club call MM0CRG will be used. Members taking
part so far are Alan G4MUR, Colin G8EXN and Alan G3TAY. All stations worked
will be sent a QSL card via the RSGB or direct [with SAE] from G3TAY QTHR.
The Island location is at 'Garvard' grid ref. NR367913 on the southern end

26/04/2003: Four members of Yamato ARC (JA1ZEK) will be active from
Christmas Island (OC-002) between April 26th and May 2nd. They will be on
all HF bands from 160 through 6 meter CW, SSB and RTTY. They will have two
400 watts amplifiers with four rigs. Operators and their callsigns are:
VK9XC - Karl/JA3MCA, VK9XE - Kuni/JA8VE, VK9XK - Sasi/JA1KJW and VK9XY -
Mat/JA1JQY. Their suggested frequencies are: CW - 1822, 3507, 7007, 10007,
14007, 18077, 21007, 24897, 28007 and 50110 kHz; SSB - 3799, 7080, 14170,
18130, 21270, 24940, 28470 and 50110 kHz; RTTY - 14080 and 21080 kHz and a
6m beacon will be on 50.110 MHz. QSL via each operator's home callsign as

27/04/2003: Nobu, JQ1EYN/6, will be QRV from Komaka Island (AS-017) April
27th and 28th, possibly until the 29th. He plans to be on 80 through 6 meter
SSB and CW. His main frequencies will be 21.260 MHz SSB and 7.030 MHz CW.

27/04/2003: Look for Fred, F5OZK, to be active April 27th to May 9th as
EA8/F5OZK from Tenerife Island, Canary Islands (AF-004). He will be QRV 40

27/04/2003: Jun, VK4SJ, and Doug, VK4BP, will be active (on 10-40 metres
SSB) as ZK1AYL and ZK1SIM from the South Cook Islands in April-May. Their
first stop will be at Aitutaki (OC-083) starting on 27 April through 14 May,
then they will go to Rarotonga (OC-013) and be active from 15 through 26
May. QSLs via VK4SJ either direct (June Sim, P.O. Box 406, Caloundra 4551,
