Fred --- In DXbase2007 Radios.ini file -- if the MODE is NOT part of what
DXbase was built-around .. We normally set that mode to ZERO ..
But, for the sake of CW versus CW-R -- ICOM has CW as a 3  and CW-R as a 7

And,. since DXbase2007 doesn't have a CW-R -- I am NOT too sure that
the above mentioned FIX will even work...

You might ask Neal for some assistance on this also!!

 Fred and ALL,

I am sure HAPPY to read that your CW-R is working properly now.

Background:  The Radios.ini file is the hardest to deal with - because
there is no instruction manual for this file.  When I started playing around 
with and trying to make entries for the Radios.ini file, I ASSUMED
(Yep - you got it!!  Egg-on-face) !!  that any mode (like CW-R) for which
DXbase2007 did NOT have an equivalent MODE number for -- then
that (like CW-R mode) MODE would default back to a number that
DXbase2007 would recognize -- such as in this case I had called
CW-R = 3 -- which is the same MODE number as for CW..  BUT,
after working with Fred and asking him to replace the number 3 with the
number 7 -- AS ICOM calls it, Fred advised that the CW-R is now
functioning properly..  So, I have LEARNED a big thing today!!!!
I have modified my "master copy" of my Radios.ini file with the
needed modification.

If anyone else is running a RIG (no matter which one) that CAN NOT
log properly for a GIVEN MODE - pse let me know and I will check
whether that RIG's Radios.ini file need to be modified also..  Having
the RIG's CAT Manual is necessary  and  thank goodness, most 
of the CAT Manuals are on the internet for download.

Amen,  Joe has helped me many times, to convert old DOS logs into DXbase,
fixing problems,  dumb thumbs on my part etc.  Even called me on the 
phone on
his dime,  many thanks to Joe.

New version,  if any one is hanging around for that one you better 
figure on
using it from your eternal hamming place, it wont be on this earth.
Its ?? (dxbase 2007) years now already,  sure there have been a couple 
bug fixes,  but nothing new.
It is totally summed up from below in the one sentence,
"

Having coded in the past for Industrial controls I can tell you its more
like "I am in over my head"  and its time to throw in the towel.

The good part is that Joe has been the fail safe,  and that DXbase does what
many need basically. Or we would all be long gone.

For his help all these years, I began sending Joe canned Sockeye salmon I
personally catch. I think he is going to get a larger amount of cans this

Just a heads-up about a callsign that are in the AMBIGUOUS category for Prefixes ...

Just saw that the callsign TX5JF is being used from French Polynesia until early August 2017.
 This callsign will default to France(F) because of the Alias Map table mapping.

This callsign is not currently MAPPED in the CALLMAP table -- so, if you want,
simply make a dummy QSO with this callsign and change the PREFIX column
of your logbook mdb file to FO and then when the pop-up asks you if you want
to save this TX5JF mapped to FO -- say YES/OK ---- Then delete that dummy QSO ..

The CALLMAP table will now be updated in advance so that if you work this
station -- it will have the correct PREFIX in your logbook QSO window ...

install DxBase2007 on it but I would like the log to start out as of 
1/1/2017. This is for some contests that the local club does. Is there a

Mike,

The easiest way to do this would be to EXPORT (adif export) your
log from 1/1/2017 to current - using the Selection Wizard - and then
import that adi file into a VIRGIN/NEW database..
