After uploading to LOTW I can download a report, containing QSOs from both logs. Importing LOTW data using the Non DXBASE import is not easy to get correct: Using ?load all records? imports everything from the report file. The log grows and adds untrue records. Using ?load if not confirmed? ignores confirmed QSOs, but still adds untrue records. Using ?do not load any records? does not add any untrue records, but does not add any LOTW confirmations either. The documentation (pdf-file for W10) says: If a QSO record cannot be found in your DXbase database, the record will be treated as a new QSO record and will be added to your DXbase database And that is not exactly what I want. I know that Joe has made an automatic routine for adding LOTW info, but I am not there yet. I would like to take it step by step, and I am a newcomer to LOTW. Guess someone out there has had the challenge. 73 de Knut LA9RY From wa6axe at verizon.net Tue Jan 5 19:56:48 2016 From: wa6axe at verizon.net (Joe Glockner) Date: Tue, 05 Jan 2016 18:56:48 -0600 (CST) Subject: [Dxbase] NEW CQ DXMarathon Award for CY2016 is now available Message-ID: <19625586.1027214.1452041808729.JavaMail.root@vznit170126.mailsrvcs.net> For the DXbase2007 user who are into the CQ DXMarathon Award - the CY2016 standalone exe program, that I make each year, is available.. This will get your Log Display back again ... (2) IF you need to - you can MAKE a NEW CO (column order) file by using the DXB Utility / Field Order ... bottomline is that your *.co file got corrupted.. You simply need to get a working co file and path to it.. LIKE I said though -- normally OTHER things (Summary Window, Packet Window, etc) get smacked at the same time ... you might look at the other windows too to make sure they are kosher.. 73 Joe wa6axe On 01/10/16, Merle Bone wrote: Apparently DXBase did not close correctly and now I have lost my Log Display. Komeil's install.cmd file didn't work as is (its pre Win10) so I simply modified it. Unpack the download (Install.cmd, winhlp32.exe, winhlp32.exe.mui) to a new directory. Edit the install.cmd and add the following two lines to the 'settings' section: set WindowsVersion=7 goto :BypassVersionError (yes, 'WindowsVersion=7' is correct.) Save the file and execute as administrator. All should go without error. Delphi help, and every other help file I've tried, now works exactly as it should! ___________________ I would add: 'execute as administrator' means: open a command prompt window AS ADMINISTRATOR (right click, run/open as administrator), change directory to where the Install.cmd file is located, along with the 2 WinHlp32 files, (use 'CD' to do that), then run Install.cmd. If you have this instructions file, the above-described changes have already been made to Install.cmd. They are provided in case you want to go back to the source (www.komeil.com), get the latest, and do it yourself. I have made a modified version of install.cmd that I could provide, but the suggested mod goes early in the file, just after the ':: setup' line. 73, George K9TRV From jaspinks at outlook.com Thu Jan 14 12:54:05 2016 From: jaspinks at outlook.com (Jim) Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2016 12:54:05 -0500 Subject: [Dxbase] a way to run WinHlp32 on Windows 10 In-Reply-To: <003f01d14eeb$a0a19480$e1e4bd80$@chartermi.net> References: <003f01d14eeb$a0a19480$e1e4bd80$@chartermi.net> Message-ID: Took 5 minutes and works like a charm. I never had seen this myself either - because I always keep my logbook in DATE ORDER. On the Win 10 install of DXbase2007 - just follow the steps outlined in Neal's PDF File that is part of the DXbase2007 ver 1.10 install zip file.. JUST remember that the HELP files are not supported in Windows 10 - yet!! Knut asked me about it - and at first, I did not know how to answer Knut's question .. Then I opened up DXbase2007 and TESTED what he was saying. That is when I saw that once you click-on the CALLSIGN Header, it makes the right-hand scroll to show CALLSIGNS... Once Neal comes out with his NEW VERSION in mid-May 2016 - we should be able to use the Help Files. 73 Joe wa6axe > From: al9a at mtaonline.net > To: dxbase at mailman.qth.net > Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2016 11:22:28 -0900 > Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Info on the right side glider changed > > Joe, > > Well I'll be darned!
