[Dxbase] New install on Win 10 update

Joe,

Mucho thanks again my friend. I managed to figure out how to find all my
modified label files to copy from old to new machine. Look at the dates of
last modification. Most of the labels from the install were dated in 2005
or so. My were much more recent 2012 - 2014. After copying I opened two
File Explorer windows, one on each machine, and searched for a partial label
name 5161, 8160, etc. and compared the counts on each machine. Found I had
missed a few so went back and got them too.

Thanks for the tip on how to go after the Help file info. It sounds a bit
complicated so will wait til I get a lot of other things going. Hope to be
complete enough by this weekend to work in the WPX RTTY contest. Thanks
again and take care Joe.

Gary,

On your label files, you are the only person who will know which label/QSL
files you modified/used routinely ... you will need to simply copy and paste
the lbl, lbv, and lbp files for each of the label/qsl files from your old
machine's
LABELS directory of DXbase2007 to your new machine's LABELS directory.

On your label pending database - once you bring over the AL9A.mdb file from
your old machine - the QSOs that were in the Labels Pending Database will
still be there -- they are part of your mdb file ..

Many thanks to Neal for his documentation on how to install DXBase 2007 on a
Win 10 machine. I just skipped all the sections about doing the weird stuff
to get the Help to work since I know that doesn’t apply to Win 10. Also
thanks to Neal again for quickly getting me a new reg file to do the install
when I was unable to locate my previous reg file and edit it to work under
Win 10.

DXBase is now installed and functional despite some pilot error on defining
the radio control port correctly which interfered with the WinKeyer in my
MicroHAM microKEYER II. Once I corrected the port assignment problem
everything straightened out, except for my rotor control. Still trying to
figure that one out. Using the same Lat. and Long. numbers, including the +
signs, that were used on my old machine, but when using the shortcut key
(Ctrl + `) to turn the rotor to the short path it starts turning toward the
long path. If I use another shortcut key (Ctrl+D) and enter the degrees
directly the rotor turns correctly. Using the Green Heron RT21 controller on
a Alpha-Spid that worked correctly before so apparently I’ve messed
something up.

Another question, perhaps for Joe? On my previous machine I had a lot of
stuff in the pending labels file and had also modified some standard QSL
card labels to my liking. I have the files available on my old machine and
would like to port them over to the new installation, but don’t know what
files I should be looking for. Any help here appreciated.
