and to add to this list, don't forget, that any cluster you connect to,
even out of state,  should have a filter you can set to show you spots what
whichever call area you want, I use k,ve to eliminate spots out of us and
Canada....

Steve, you are going to find that any node is going to present spots 
from all over the world.  Most ops aren't selecting nodes based on 
geography.  I use KN4F here in Memphis to support Jim's efforts but most 
of those connected are all over the US and in some foreign countries.  
If you don't want to see a 160 meter spot in EU, you are going to have 
to go into the filters and set it up to keep that off your monitor.  I 
exclude all foreign spots just to keep the traffic down.  You can always 
go to DX Summit to see what the rest of the world is hearing in certain 
situations.  This works for me.

The site is supposed to be self-updating in fact. Jim, AD1C, worked with DX
Cluster software developers, like VE7CC, so that when the software updates
you are taken to the update screen so you update the dx cluster information.

I think there is a real stagnancy in the cluster world right now. I have
heard (no verifying info) that the AR Cluster guys have stopped updates
(again) to AR Cluster and VE7CC is the remaining version that is updated
regularly.

I've run Initial Table Data and get an error:

 

"The value <ZK2VF <ZK2>> was NOT found in the DXCC Numeric Statistics Table.

 

You should correct the problem by fixing the QSO data or by updating the
reference database with the valid information."

 

E6 is in the Primary Prefix Database as Niue. What am I missing?

When I entered E6 in the Prefix field, I got the error message I posted
before. Even though the message indicated it wouldn't take the prefix, it
actually did. After changing all the ZK2 calls to the E6 prefix and running
initialize tables, everything is as it should be. Thanks.

I have recently observed that the antenna headings are wrong for most of the countries I have selected. Some are okay. For example: USA are okay; Spain are okay. Juan de Nova, way out(wrong), Madagascar, the short path almost 180 degrees out. I have checked KP4 coordinates in User Options and they are okay.
I am using DXBase 2007. 
Any advise?

Just remember that the numerical sign for Longitude is different in DXbase than most programs. West is negative and east is positive. Do you have your own long set to positive?

Well, well. According to the DXBase Help File:
Latitude: if South - Negative
                If North - Positive
Longitude: if East - Negative
                    If West - Positive

KP4 is:
Latitude 18.3461 North
and Longitude 66.0486 West

So.......I changed the Longitude to + Positive and is working PERFECT:

This is what I have now on Users Options/General:
Latitude:     +18.35
Longitude:   +66.04

I have checked VK0, 5R, FT4, etc and it matches with a Beam Heading List I have downloaded from "The North Jersey DX Association". Also is common sense that 5R is is somewhere in the 100 degrees east and not on the 225 W.
Probably in all my ham career, I have worked everybody through the Long Path. (no way, I'm Kidding).

Neal,

I have minus for East Longitude and positive for North Latitude.
So I think that Tele must set a positive sign for his Longitude.
That's what I have in my DXBase 2007 (and since the DOS version, HIHI). 
And the bearings are correct with that.

I have 68,000 entries in my log and all are available for QSLing.

 

However, when I export to ADIF, only 25,000 entries are exported.   Also, if
I have a list of 50 QSL labels to print, when I send them to the output to
print, there might be only a dozen labels.

DXbase has a bizarre way of "regulating" the licensed copy

If the Opr Call is not one on your "licence" they do not export or print 
but you NEVER get a flag or anything!

To delete a country in DXBase, go to TOOLS, Data Base Access, Country Prefixes, when the Country Prefix windows opens, scowl down to KH5K, then move right in the window to you get the "Deleted" column, ?put a check mark in the box, and that is it.
You might need to "Initialize Tables" under the TOOLS menu for it to take affect?? ?

With the DELETION of KH5K .. I have updated my? DXbase2007? 
Refdata/Logbook Analyzer and Updater program to include a CHECK
for DELETED ENTITIES.

The deletion of KH5K as an active entity is very straight-forward to do manually (by the user).

Can you do an "Initialize Tables" - without any error?

If you can - do you have the DX Info and QSL Info windows OPEN?

IF you do have these windows CLOSED - OPEN them and if you do not
want to see them - MINIMIZE them - do not close them.

What is your O/S on that computer?  Where is DXbase2007 located?

I am importing an Adif file into one of my DXBase .mdb files.
All the Q's show in the Log when I finish. I then Initialize
the tables.
However, when I Initialize the tables, only 369 of the 395
Q's show up as read. The Adif import file had 26 Q's in it.
When I try to use Selection Wizard and bracket the QSO
dates for the 26 new Q's, nothing shows up in the QSO
Records area.

Any ideas ?

Dick,

One question -- what was the OPRCALL assigned to those 26 QSOs?  
If the OPRCALL on those QSOs is NOT in your reg file - they will not
show-up in the totals, etc ...

BUT - we the users of DXbase2007 are MORE interested in the PROMISED
NEW Version of DXbase by Dayton timeframe -- and that is roughly ONE MONTH

Hi all,

I stopped coding a week ago as I was doing more damage than good so I
needed to take a break.

I will keep you all updated when its available, (but the code get rid of
registration callsign checks has been eliminated already...)

I made some QSL card design and was satisfied with that.
Then I had a harddisk failure and had to move my designs to a new disk.
Today I could not load some of my designs.
The error messages:
* File is password protected og has invalid format.
/Checked this. Properties says nothing about protected.

/* Error: printer definition file bad or defective
/Is there a printer definition file for each card design?

/* The project file cannot be opened. Either you don't have enough 
network rights or the project is being edited at the moment.
/How can I find out? Sure I don't edit more than one file at a time

/An empty design project follows.

Redesign might be a solution, but is there a way to sort this out filewise?

I am using W10 Home edition, 64 bits and DxBase 1.10

Forget it. I found DXBase ver 1.05, not 1.10, and that explains all. Ver 
1.10 is now installed, and problems gone.

Subject: [Dxbase] DXbase doesn't read the mode from FT5K

After several years of flawless operation my DXbase stopped reading the mode
from FTdx5000 and places "LSB" despite the current operating mode.

Frequency (from one/both VFOs) read correctly.

Definitely I placed "V"  in "Log Defaults" -> "Load Band/Mode from HF
transceiver".

 

What can be the problem?
