When 2 is selected it does log the data for Radio 2 The menu item Tools > use Radio 2 doesn't work as you have found !!! That can be selected, in theory at least, by using ALT-T then U which is no help as it doesn't work. The tool bar button DOES work though. What I have found however is that even if you select radio 2 and spot you click on only ever goes to radio 1 which is pretty annoying! 73 Fred G4BWP On 02/09/2015 20:38, Dave G3RXP wrote: > I have two radios connected to my shack network, and in DXBase, I can select Radio2 by clicking on the icon in Tools/radio2, > But how do I get back to Radio1. Yes the QSO tool bar with the box with Radio 2 in it does indeed switch to radio 2 and back again to radio 1. - Great. Thank you guys. *note for Neal the tool tip always says select for Radio2 even when you are selecting Radio1. Not a big problem. Thanks Fred for the reply and yes I wasnt sure what the band plan had to do with the selection of both rigs except if you only wanted a limited selection of a band on one rig. Im afraid DxBase is becoming further away from my shack setup and more difficult to get all the equipment working through the LAN. Problems are - no Polling until you enter a call -no good for band switching and setting up the steppir. Not to mention the SPE automatic amp. Other visual aids I would require are Band maps for each rig with auto filling of RBN and cluster. Would be nice to see the DX stations pop up on each band. If the OPR CALL field in DXBase has a variation of your main call those may not be included in your adi file if the Opr Call field on the main Wizard screen is checked and set to just G3RXP. If this is the case uncheck Opr Call and the Wizard should get all the records in your mdb file. One other thought. It would seem better to me to have Neil add all your other calls to the registry file and then export a complete set of QSOs for each of the various calls into their own unique adi files. These could then be uploaded in turn to ClubLog provided you have established a unique account there for each call. After all, those who worked G5U, or one of you other calls will be looking in ClubLog for that call, not G3RXP! However, if you still desire to change G5U to G3RXP simply do the following. First, make a backup of file of your mdb file and give it a slightly modified file name. For example G3RXP_BAK.mdb. This is important if you change your mind and want to go back to the beginning. Now in DXBase go to the first record in your mdb log. Tab over until you find the "Opr Call" field. Click on that field to place your cursor in the correct column. Now click on Edit/Replace... The "Find what:" box will probably have your G3RXP call filled in. Change that to G5U and then in the "Replace with:" box enter G3RXP. Now click on the "Replace All" button and DXBase will work its way down through your mdb file and replace each G5U call it finds with G3RXP. If you have other calls that you wish to replace go through the above steps again for each of those calls. When finished you should be able to output a single adi file with the complete set of records in your log. However, as stated before this may not be the wisest thing to do. 73, Gary AL9A -----Original Message----- From: Dave G3RXP Sent: September 07, 2015 9:59 AM To: wa6axe at verizon.net ; dxbase at mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dxbase] Export to ADIF lost QSOs Joe and Gary, Gary I Think I have fixed some of the problem- I had the operator on some contests with G5U and I changed 6 of the calls and my log total went up by 6 so it looks like I need to replace 1000 odd G5U calls as operator. Over the years I have noticed that downloading from LOTW or importing from contest programs occasionally adds duplicate entries to my log. This appears to happen when the mode is different. In other words, if I logged the qso as RTTY and LOTW has the qso as Digital, I'll get a duplicate entry. They're easy to pick out but you do need to look at the log. So at least in my case I haven't lost QSO's, I have gained entries. This seems to have the same effect on log totals when you run the selection wizard. That being said, when I run selection wizard the duplicate doesn't get picked up and the totals appear different. But in my case it's just because of the dupe. I haven't seen thousands but there might be a hundred and I haven't quite figured out what causes it. I just kind of live with it. Normally, the column order (*.co) files that we have in DXbase2007 are titled as MyCols.co and Default.co Whichever one you are currently using - has been corrupted.. IF you have a backup of your *.co files -- restore them -- OR --- delete the current co file and then open DXbase2007 again - and this time select the OTHER co file.. For example portable or mobile operations where you've used a leading DXCC country prefix followed by "/G3RXP"? Or G3RXP/P or G3RXP/M? If the OPR CALL field in DXBase has a variation of your main call those may not be included in your adi file if the Opr Call field on the main Wizard screen is checked and set to just G3RXP. If this is the case uncheck Opr Call and the Wizard should get all the records in your mdb file. One other thought. Have you ever operated under a totally different call and included those records in your mdb data base? For instance a special event operation or operations done under a club call? If so, you will have to contact Neil to add those calls to your registration file otherwise they will never be picked up for output to a adi file. 73, Gary AL9A -----Original Message----- From: Dave G3RXP Sent: September 07, 2015 7:02 AM To: dxbase at mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dxbase] Export to ADIF lost QSOs Hello All, I am trying to upload my log to Club Log using the ADIF option. You shud be all ok.. 73 Joe wa6axe On 09/10/15, N2TK, Tony wrote: Every once in a while I reboot my desktop. I just did it. When I stared DXBase all windows are fine except the Log window. The old standard RS(T) system does not cover the types of reports now commonly used in some of the new digital transmission modes. One important case is the WSJT-X JT65 reporting schema that runs from -01 to -24. On some of the meteor scatter modes (FSK441, JT6M, etc.) a 26 or 27 report is common (and it sorta fits into the standard RS reporting schema), and in some contests the grid square is the "report." However, a check of the IOTA web site for Niue shows they list the longitude coordinates as being from 169.67W - 170W. The plus sign inDXBase indicates West longitude. So there us a slight discrepancy between what DXBase has and what IOTA uses. Not a very significant error in any case; only about 1.2 degrees difference in the beam heading using Fred's numbers. No idea why his Countries data base has a '-' instead of a '+' leading the numbers. 73, Gary AL9A -----Original Message----- From: Fred Handscombe Sent: September 20, 2015 8:26 AM To: DXBase List ; dxbase at yahoogroups.com Subject: [Dxbase] E6 entry in database Hi All If you are chasing E6GG be aware the country database entry is WRONG It has a typo in the longitude for E6 as "_169.8" It should be +169.8 Then the beam headings and SR/SS times work correctly 73 Fred G4BWP ______________________________________________________________ Dxbase mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dxbase Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dxbase at mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html From K2LS at TRIAD.RR.COM Tue Sep 22 11:54:50 2015 From: K2LS at TRIAD.RR.COM (K2LS) Date: Tue, 22 Sep 2015 11:54:50 -0400 Subject: [Dxbase] Help again Message-ID: <560179CA.70407@TRIAD.RR.COM> Just when you thought nothing else can go wrong.... It's my understanding that USB serial adapters with a true "FTDI" chipset is the way to go. From my experience, USB serial adapters with knock off chipsets tend to have both hardware and software related issues. Joe thanks again for your rapid response. In no time at all, I was able to get DXBase up and running after my catastrophic failure. It seems that the database was corrupted after I shut the computer off without exiting the software graciously. Won't do that again! Bottom line, keep a good back up. I generally back up all my data files and I also keep an ADIF of the entire database. See you guys this contest season. I still need AK on 160 for WAS.
