I'm more concerned that this "free" offer will wind up costing us.  If it's 
anything like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, Adobe is (has) dropping standalone 
copies of the programs and gone to "cloud" versions, where you "rent" the 
programs for $10 a month...forever.  (For the nitpickers, yes, I realize we 
don't own the software now.)

Agree, I think the most doubtful part of their plan is that we users no
longer can control what updates/patches are applied to our systems. Its
"all" or you do not get any updates from MS. Enterprise users will have
control but not consumer.

I can understand the reasons, given their history of security issues as
well as their pledge that this is the last Windows release, but we have
seen enough trouble in the past to yield total control to them.

I have spent 3 days this week trying to find out what update has caused
initialization of my computer systems to no longer work, alas no success. I
found a utility to overcome the issue but it worked properly 2 months ago
and now it doesn't.

We shall see how they perform!

I just upgraded my Ham Radio computers and decided to run the Windows 7 64b it version on them instead of the 32bit version that I had been using on my older computers. All went we ll with the installation of DXBase 2007 V 1.10, ?except that when I applied my Registration Code, it did not take. It still says that I need to apply the code to register the product . Has anyone else encountered this problem ? Or is there something else that I need to do to make the registration work? I think I remember some email s about registration, but I can"t find them...

You have to MODIFY your 32 bit reg file to a 64 bit reg file .. Here are
the instructions:

Converting a 32bit Registration file to 64bit.


Use notepad to open the registration file that you have for 32 bit.


Replace the following line:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Scientific Solutions\Dxb2007]

With the following line:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Scientific Solutions\Dxb2007]


Save changes to a new filename so that you do not erase your
original 32bit registration.

To apply this new registration, double click the .reg filename.

Has anyone performed the upgrade to Windows 10 and checked to see if DXBase
will run successfully?  Any changes that need to be made to reinstall after
the upgrade?  I'm upgrading from Windows 7 SP1 on an HP Intel i7 machine.
I've been waiting to see if there are any issues before I change my

Greg,

If doing an upgrade (which I haven't tested), it should migrate the
registration key properly. I have found, however, that if you are running
64 bit Windows 10, you do mot need the modification of the reg file
documented for previous OSs.

Let me know how you find this. I have only tested it on my "clean" Win10
test machine, nothing resembling real life.

O/s of  Windows 7 32 bit -- and Windows 8 64 bit ...


I go to the Main Menu/ Tools/ Options/ User Options / Internet TAB

And since I have "Screen Updates" defaulted as  "DX Info Window" - I change
it to the  "Internet Window" radio button option ... Then I click OK --
and immediately a pop-up error shows-up as:

"The parameter is incorrect"

Then I found that changing ANYTHING in that "Internet TAB" - causes the same error ...

I am running DXbase2007 ver 1.10  on  O/S:

Windows XP -- ALL ok..
Windows 7/32 bit -- ERROR
Windows 7/64 bit -- ALL ok.
Windows 8/64 bit -- ERROR

I know - this doesn't make any sense!!!!

Has anyone who is especially running O/S Win8/64bit - run into the same ERROR?

Hi everybody
This is such a minor issue it barely warrants inquiry.  In the last 2 months I set up a new Win7(32) PC for the station, Azrock Z97.  DXbase2007 v1.0.10.1
The desktop shortcut icon displays the generic Windows icon, not the familiar DXb icon.  The icon on the dxbase2007.exe file is also the generic.
DXbase appears to be working properly.  Any ideas?

If you go to the Desktop ICON and right click on it - then select 
Properties ..

You should see the BUTTON named as :  Change ICON

CLick on that button and you should see ALL of the ICONs that are
in the DXbase2007/Images  subdirectory ...  Click on the FAMILIAR ICON..

If you do not see any DXBASE Icons when you press the Change ICON button -
then look into the DXbase2007/Images directory .. do you see ALL of the default 
JPG files that should be in there (approx 26 jpg files)

My internet cluster window has stopped allowing me to qsy and it has also stopped giving alerts.? Both these columns are empty.? The window populates correctly from ve1cc-1. 
I cannot find the internet cluster window addressed in Help.? It seems to address everything imaginable but the internet cluster window.? 
? 
Anyone have any ideas as to what to do to fix this problem and possibly what caused it.?

Can someone tell me how to make the DxBase internal keyer to work?
I am running Dxbase 2007 on a Win8 operating system and have a RS232
serial port available as COM4 for CW keyer output. ( 9 pin plug)
I have run the dxbdvr.exe program but are not sure how to set up
the port addresses. Also Win 8 is not in the list of operating systems.

Still not working.? I have restarted DXbase and each of the windows separately.? Even restarted VE7CC-1.? Everything about the Internet Cluster window works like it should but the QSY and Alert columns remain empty. 
I still cannot find anything that addresses the working of the Internet Cluster Window in the HELP files.? Using the repair utility did not solve this problem.

According to the Marac Logger website, you should export your log to ADIF
and then use Marac to import your ADIF file.
