[Dxbase] Out of memory.

Fortunately it is not a big deal. If it were my contesting program, Writelog, that would be different. I have used Writelog without a hitch for years. I really have no need for the automated CW from DXBase so I just turned it off and I am fine. My setup is almost identical to Gary's so I guess it will just remain a mystery! :-) Most computer stuff is a mystery to me anyway. I do love my DXBase. It and I just finished DXCC #340 this year so it is my old friend.
Merry Christmas,

Well, then I am mystified as to Bills problem. I also run the microHAM MKII keyer with DXbase 2007 (on an old Vista Dell laptop) and use the CW memory buffers without a hitch. Never seen and out of memory message.

I do not think the cluster spots will cause any excessive memory usage, it sounds like activating cw memories is the problem. I have kept DXB up for weeks here getting spots.

Good idea, I hadn't thought of that and I do leave the cluster running
continuously. Although, I have used this same setup for years and it just
started happening. Now that the CW sending feature is disabled, the "out of
memory" message has gone away.
I will follow up on your suggestion! Thanks.

Bill,
Are you connected to a DX cluster and continuously receiving spots? If so
the incoming spots over several days could be filling up your available
memory. I'm not at my computer at the moment, but check the Options page
for a way to limit the number of spots retained in memory.

I have been using the same version of DXBase for several years. It is DXBase
2007 Version 1.06 and it is on a Windows XP machine. It works great and I
have seen no reason to change it. The other day, on a lark, I thought I
would set up the CW memories so that I could send from DXBase. I have used
Writelog for years and it sends CW very nicely using my Microham CW Keyer.
I set it up and it seemed to work fine, seemed like it was a little flakey
but nothing I could put my finger on. After a week or so I got an "out of
memory" message from the computer. I leave DXBase running all the time and
reboot seldom so I figured it needed to be rebooted. I did that and it
worked OK but after a week or so I got the "out of memory" message again and
this time it locked up the computer. I looked to see what I had running in
the background and found nothing unusual.
I am certainly not very knowledgeable about computers. I went in and reset
the comport that I was using so that the CW memories wouldn't work and have
had no further problems. This is not a big deal, I would seldom use the CW
memories but I am a little curious if anyone else has run into this?
