Does your radio frequency get populated when you LOG a spot

I have a question,  when I go to put out a spot on the internet, I thought
the program would look at the radio and read the frequency and fill in the
spot accordingly.  Well that is not happening, do I have something set
wrong?  I thought was working several years ago.
