[Dxbase] Zone checker utilities by WA6AXE

Jim,

The zone checker utilities let you run a test first that produces both a
list in a window of the utility and outputs a text file of what it thinks
are errors. You could print out the text file and check it manually before
telling the zone checker to update your mdb file. Be aware that if you run
another of the zone checker utilities before you print out the text file it
will get overwritten by the next run, they all use the same file name. You
can't do successive runs and get all the errors in the same text file. You
could find the text file after a run, rename it and then do another utility
run. Find that file rename it and do the last utility run. Then copy and
paste to merge the three files into one for printing.

If your manual check of the errors shows most of them are out of whack and
need changing, but a few are correct as is, I would mark those on the list,
do the auto update and then manually change the few back to the correct
settings. Problem is you have to remember to do this each time in the
future.

Again, the utilities I have were made for 2006. I'm not sure what would
happen if you tried to run them on a 2007 mdb file. I suspect they won't
work. Only sure way to know I guess is to back up my 2007 mdb file and
"give a go" as the Brits say.

73,
Gary AL9A

If the program does not Auto correct and just produces a list, I would run
it.

Then check what errors it comes up with.

http://www4.plala.or.jp/nomrax/DXCC.htm Make sure this list is current.
Maybe Neal has a better one.

Stay on course, fight a good fight, and keep the faith. Jim K9TF/WA9YSD
