[Dxbase] FSK with the Icom 781

Is there anyone who can help me get an Icom 781 working on FSK RTTY using the W3YY FSK/CW board, MMTYand DxBase 2007? I,m wired as in the attached connection diagram.

PROBLEM

1. Cant get rig to properly switch ON/OFF using the com 1 serial port. Transceiver shows rtty signal power going out but it sounds like its in a fast cw breakin mode rather than in a continuously ON transmit mode.  When the transmit switch on the rig is manually thrown, then in the output monitor it sounds more like the rtty signal should sound. 

Com Port #1 is being used to do this switching.  What are the settings for the com port?

Bits/sec -
Data bits -
Parity -
Stop bits -
Flow control -
Use FIFO Buffers - yes/no (Advanced Setting)

3. Is it necessary to make settings in the Icom 781? If so what are they?
Address
Baud Rate
Mark/space are set at factory defaults 2125 mark, 2295 space freq, shift 170

Any help would be very greatly appreciated.
