[Dxbase] internet packet issue

Hello,
I'm having an internet packet issue here.  Until a few months ago, I  was 
able to connect to k8smc.com for packet internet spots but something has  
gone wrong.  I am not able to connect to that site or any other sites that  are 
listed in my hosts file.  I only have a few in the hosts file that I  use.  
It may not be a dxbase problem, but I'm unsure where else to ask for  help. 
 I use a DLink wireless router here and I've been through the setting  on 
that thing a couple of times with no results. Any ideas will be  appreciated.
