[Dxbase] Modifications to DXbase2007 for the "Naming" of Digital DXCC Award?

Tim and all:

My own personal feelings are that DXBASE already has the flexibility "built-in" for tracking
RTTY separate from Digital -- and also has the combined RTTY/Dig column too ... so, as far
as that is concerned -- we are good ...

The ONLY situation I was talking about is the AWARD Module (DXCC)  QSO FORM itself 
(that we need to take to a Card-Checker) ... Neal is checking on this and I will await
his reply..

DXbase has always been "kinda" DXCC based -- in that our Entities/Countries listing is
truely a DXCC listing -- but, DXbase is also flexible enough so that it can be used for
OTHER Awards (like the CQ magazine awards) ...

I am also a pureist at heart - when it comes to RTTY .. but, that is just me..

We will see what Neal finds out ...

      Is DXBase then going to be a DXCC only program. What about awards that do not combine RTTY into digital? I would rather my RTTY contacts be separate from Digital modes and allow DXBase to continue total them as they are. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Yes - Jack made the COMBINED Dig/RTTY area of the STATS many years ago - thinking that SOMEDAY
they would do what they have just done ... and YES -- when I do an AWARD (DXCC) Module run 
(besides looking at the stats) -- my count there is good also -- 

It is JUST the NAME of RTTY as a MODE on the QSO Form for DXCC -- which this CAN be changed
within the DXbase2007 exe file -- without causing too many probs ...

It has been very accurate. One of the columns in DXCC is called  "Dig/RTTY" and it appears to be RTTY & Digital contacts combined. When I combine my PSK31 & RTTY contacts confirmations manually the numbers are the same as shown in the "Dig/RTTY" column. So, it appears that some far-sighted person could see the day coming when RTTY contacts would be combined with Digital contacts. For now, I see only one necessary change to make. Retitle the column to "Digital" and drop the OLD "Digital."  A few of the Reports will have to reflect the change because of the change in the meaning of Digital. I am not that smart on the DXCC program -- maybe we have an expert Card Checker who can
give us some guidance -- but, from what I can see out of this CHANGE from the

DXCC RTTY Award

now being called

DXCC Digital Award

and the RTTY award name is GONE -- as well as the RTTY Mode within the
Rules area -- now RTTY is just a subset of the Digital Mode ...

SO, after looking over everything on DXbase dealing with RTTY versus Digital,
I am sure thinking that there WILL be a needed change -- but, need an expert
here ...


Any thoughts ??
