Halvard,
I doubt you are still using all those comp ports. What happens is the
drivers reserve the com port when installed. When you move on to something
else the port is still assigned.
Go here and use this process to clear some ports, if you're using Window7 64
bit you'll need to make the change I figured out (listed below the link). If
Vista 64 bit uses the same directory structure I suspect it's the same as
the Windows 7 64 bit.

To use this on Windows 7 64 substitute the line cd \Windows\system32
With cd\windows\sisWOW64
Then you should be able to reassign the ports for your RigExpert to lower
port numbers.

I use Windows Vista, DxBase2007 and the RigExpert Tiny Radio interface to
communicate with my IC-7000. My PC mounts the interface on Com port 21 and
22 because most of the lower port numbers are in use. This works fine when I
use MixWin for digital modes but DxBase seems to require that the com port
number is 16 or lower. As a result I am unable to connect DxBase2007 to my
radio.
Is it me or is this a known problem. If someone have a solution I would be
grateful for it.
