Right now it seems to be a permanent decision. Joe said it was a personal
decision and given the years he has worked more than "full time" on DXBase,
I am sure we can respect that. All I can say is I wish he had not left but
he has decided to so thats all we can say.
>From my personal observation, there seems to be a lifetime of how long
people can stay in this business (even though Joe wasn't paid I am sure he
was devoting full-time service to the DXBase users). You see it with
software authors (how many logging programs have disappeared in the past 2
years?) and I guess with those kind people who act, like Joe, in an
unofficial role but critically important.
There are only 2 people I know that have dedicated as much time and effort
as Joe: Joe and Jim AD1C.
We owe them both a tremendous thank you!
Even though they both don't seem to like gifts, we certainly owe them a
tremendous thanks!
