[Dxbase] Shared serial port

as far as i know you cant share the port with your control software or DxBase .. Its one or the other..

Hello Group. 

I am trying to figure out a way to share my serial port between my IC-7000 control software (IZ2BKT) and DXbase 2007. Right now if I have the control software running I have to reboot before DXbase with see the port. 

I have thought about running 2 VMs of Windows XP with VMware and sharing the port that way. Has anyone solved this issue?
