[Dxbase] W4DUP - SK

I am sad to announce that Sandy, W4DUP, became an SK this morning after 
losing his battle with prostate cancer.  Sandy was a regular on the 
reflector here and a DXBase user since the first version was released.  
I met Sandy 13 years ago when I moved to Memphis.  He was a Federal 
Express employee at the time.  He was an avid DXer and a true 
gentleman.  He was always ready to help another ham and was especially 
talented when it came to DXBase and other software.  Sandy retired 
several years ago and moved to Cookeville, TN where he was active right 
up until his death.  He will certainly be missed by his friends in TN.  
He was a great chaser of DX and a talented operator.

This is the email I received from his daughter today:

*Hi all - This is Vicki Whitley, Sandy's daughter. I wanted to let you 
know that my Dad passed away peacefully early this morning (Friday 
5-29-09). The visitation will be at Cookeville Funeral Home Saturday, 
May 31 from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be Sunday at 1 pm with some 
additional visitation time at noon. In lieu of flowers my Dad would love 
for donations to be made to the New Life Orphanage in Nogales, Mexico in 
care of Christ Community Church.  We also ask to there be no suit 
jackets or neck ties worn to the services. My Dad despised neck ties and 
we promised not to bury him in one!   *
