Sounds more like a bug to me.
Why would anybody want to type CW characters and no be able to see what they
had typed??

Gary,
DXbase was never designed to echo characters to the screen. So, in the
present design, it is not broke... what you want is simply not a feature
that it contains. Perhaps you can write up a suggestion on the DXbase
website if this is necessary/important.
