[Dxbase] Comport Problem

I've been using DXbase 2006 and have had no problems with comports until recently. Com2 was working just fine, but now if I try to use it I get an error msg stating: 
"Unable to open <HF Radio 1 comport>. This feature will be turned off." With Com2, I was able to control changing frequencies on my Kenwood TS-2000 with my mouse. 
If I change to another Comport that is accepted w/o an error msg I cannot control changing frequencies w/my mouse. 

I've read and re-read the documentation but nothing seems to resolve this problem. 

Any suggestions?
