I thought it might be worthwhile to share this on the reflector to suggest that those who are looking for alternatives to DXBase, definitely should take a look at the DXSuite. I had no problems converting my log files from DXBase, including the LOtw uploads and downloads to sync the log. I am having a great time with RTTY and PSK31 (Winwarbler) and am learning more about the multitude of features I haven't had time to explore. The documentation and online help files are excellent and with DXLauncher, download and installation of the various packages is a breeze. I know that no matter how well software is written, it won't please everyone, but believe me you owe it to yourself to see if DXSuite software can meet your particular needs and its FREE .
I sent the following message to Dave,AA6YQ:
Hi Dave:
I just wanted to inform you my transition is complete. I couldn't be happier with the software. My DXBase logs were imported into DXKeeper without incident. Commander controls my TS-940s without problems, Winwarbler works great on RTTY and PSK31 including the log functions and I'm certain that with time I will come to appreciate more of the available features of DXsuite.
One of my biggest concerns was the LOtw operations, but as far as I can tell at the onset, it worked perfectly in updating my log data and verfying the LOtw confirmations.
I know you spend a great deal of time solving a multitude of problems so I just wanted to send you this positive note from pleased user of the software. My issues will probably plague you later, after I know enough to be dangerous, but for now I couldn't be happier.
73,
Billy
