Actually, Windows cut and paste does work. Highlight the text you want to
use over and over and hit CTRL-C. This will copy the text. Next, use CTRL-V
to paste. By the way, CTRL-X will do a cut instead of copy.

Subject: [Dxbase] Entering Q's in DxBase 2007
I don't use dxbase as a real-time logger, rather I enter my paper
logs when I have the time. Except contest logs which I import as
.ADI files. My question is about how to outsmart dxbase. It
continually tries to tell me what I should be entering, which I
suppose is to prevent errors, but to me is extremely annoying. I've
turned off all the autofills and defaults I can find in the settings
but it still insists on putting a QSO end-time from the current clock
on QSO's I enter from months ago. So I have to go back after every
so many entries and delete them. Windows copy and paste tools don't
seem to work in dxbase so if I have a comment that applies to 5 or 10
Q's I have to type in each comment individually.
Now today it's come up with a new objection. I have been entering my
logs from the last few months with no complaint from dxbase and all
of a sudden it will not take any more Q's. I get the message that
"The field 'QSO-TAB.QSO-CQ-ZONE' can't contain a Null value because
the Required property for the this field is set to True. Enter a
value the this field."
I don't see any field with that name. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I have used dxbase since the 2004 release and I still don't think it,
nor any other program that has come along is any better than
WJ2O's. I understand people must move on, but Dave was on the right track.
