[Dxbase] Database backups

This is a great reminder! This past summer I had a lightning strike that
took out my radio computer. I have three computers on my network and I keep
the log on two different computers on the network. Unfortunately, all three
computers were smoked. Fortunately, a local computer guy was able to
reconstruct the 50,000+ QSOs. Since that time I have purchased Belkin power
back up systems for each of the three new computer systems.

It would really be a good idea to keep you important files on one of these
off site services. I noticed that Dell (my new computers are Dell) provides
this service with the new computers called "Data Safe"...probably lots of
these services around.

Having backup computers like I had or backup hard drives may be good but a
lightning strike can take all that stuff out. I lost a FT1000MP, three
computers, networking hardware, TV, microwave and a 40 Meter beam w/coax.
Your homeowners insurance can help replace most of this kind of stuff but
not your files. When they are gone, they are gone.
