[Dxbase] DXB2007 QSL question

Gregg,

Try the Selection Wizard to get the records you want. I have DXB2006, but I
think the Wizard is pretty much the same for DXB2007. The thing is to
adequately define what you want through the Wizard filters. You will need
to run three iterations to get all your QSL labels because DXB stores Modes
for USB, LSB and CW. As for manager labels, I'm not sure what happens with
the Pending Address Labels. I think that will depend upon what you have in
your data base as the QSL manager for a particular call sign. The Selection
Wizard says it reads Log Records for QSO Labels, Address Labels and QSO
Records. The Output Type choices are Reports, Labels, and ADIF file. I
know the Labels selection sends QSL labels to the Pending QSL Labels file,
but I'm not sure if it does the same for the Pending Address Labels file.

Try a few runs of the Selection Wizard to see what you can do. If you
currently have any Pending Address or QSL labels print them off and then
clear the Pending Labels database before starting. That way if you make a
mistake you can delete everything there and try again. Be sure to check the
'Test only - Don't save output' box until you think you have the Wizard
filters working correctly.

Assuming you only want labels for unconfirmed NEW ONES, not everything that
is unconfirmed, try the following:

Start the Selection Wizard.
Set Output Type to Labels
Check the Test only box
In the Auto Detect New Ones area check Active Category = Countries
Click the radio buttons for the Mode and Band choices you want
Click on the QSO Filters button
Check Valid DXCC
Check Mode = USB or LSB or CW (you need to change this on each iteration for
all the modes you want)
Check Confirm = None
Click OK to return to the main Selection Wizard screen
Let 'er rip!

If you get what looks like a reasonable number of records selected, uncheck
the Test Only box and run it again. This will send the output to the
Pending Labels database. Go there and look at the records that were
selected. If everything is ok, go back to the Wizard and filter for a
different mode. Those records will be added to the ones already there. If
it looks like you have selected something you don't want delete all the
pending labels and try adjusting more filters in the Wizard. If you get QSL
records, but no corresponding address label, check for the missing addresses
in the QSL Info window to see if an address exists. If not, you will need
to add any info you can get from a QSL manager service, such as qrz.com, and
then Save a manager map for the call sign. Then you will have to delete
your Pending Labels and run the process again to get new labels with the
manager routing info. Good luck.

Gary AL9A
