[Dxbase] log error revisited

still have the problem with log entry counts..   log initializing says i 
have 4 entries less than  actually shows in the log.   attempts at exporting 
to adif , then reimporting to a new fresh log, has not solved it, and it is 
not telling me of any entry errors.     what other way can I go to find the 
count discrepancy
