To all:

The MODE for VFOB (when split) is "always" the MODE that
I manually put it in - before clicking-on the SPOT that
has the QSX (freq) in it ...

I just manually made the MODE for VFOB as CW  vice  USB ..

Then - clicked-on a SPOT with the QSX (freq) in it -- and the
MODE for VFOB "stayed" at CW -- vice being setup as LSB - which
would be correct for the frequency.
