I have tried many variations of this and find the logging is the only thing
that follows to the path.  Adding any QSLs to file which I assume was added
to the database at the network path seems to be added to the local machine.

Bottom Line 

Use Real VNC  www.realvnc.com which is a free version of PC Anywhere type
program.  I now simply log onto the shack machine and load DXB - do my
Qsling etc.  This works very well and puts you right at the keyboard of any
network machines.

I assign odd port numbers and add port forwarding to my router so I can
access any of my machines from anywhere.  I also use www.no-ip.org  to
handle DNS so I never need to worry what my home IP is.
