Dating QSO's for other than the current time on your computer
You have to turn off the auto date and time fill in your log (this is
done in user options) that occurs when you enter the callsign and
data so that you have to manually enter the date and time. Or leave
the auto fill "ON" for the date and time and after you have entered
the Callsign, and saved the record (your cursor has to leave the
record row) then you can return to it and change the date and time.
When auto fill of date and time is "ON" on the initial entry of a QSO
the computer's current date and time will be updated as the record is
saved when you exit the row or hit enter. At this point you can
return to the QSO entered and edit the date and time and it will not
change on exit. When you open your logging program the next time it
will sort those QSO's into the proper date time order before
displaying them on the screen.
QSL's
If you use the previous QSO window to check for the call and when you
fill in your card then highlight the line containing the record and
click on send. When you have finished answering the QSLs then go to
"output" on the top menu row and when the menu drops down select "use
designer labels" . In the box that drops down select Radio button
"QSO Label" and put 3 in the box labeled "QSOs per label". Label
Group should stay at 1 unless you have specified something else in
your set up. Then enter your callsign in operators callsign box if
empty or wrong call shows there. Then click "OK". Next another window
opens to chose a file format for you label. Choose the second entry
which should be "3q86103.lbl" and this file name should appear in the
"file name window near the bottom" and file type box should show
"label (*.lbl)".
now you can click on the "open" button and another window should
open. Since we are not going to actually print anything the only
thing that is important in this window is the "Direct To" box and you
want to make sure the selection "Preview" show in the window use the
drop down arrow to find it if it is not the default and select it in
the list. Once it is in the window click on the "Start" button and
the next screen opens that will preview the labels to be printed.
Once this screen opens you can close it and as it closes you will be
asked if you want to update the QSL sent field and your answer should
be "Yes" and the program will populate the QSL Sent field with the
current date for all QSO's in that label print queue. Next you want
to delete all those entries in your print queue. So go back to the
menu selection "Output" and select "empty Labels" and from the drop
down box you need to fill in the data for "QSO labels to Empty"
Groups the default is 1 and this number has to agree with the one you
used when you created your print file. Again Operator's Call must be
entered and this also must match the one entered in your designer
label box. You can replace the one with an "*" which will clear every
label file for the operator callsign entered when you click the "OK"
button on this box.
Hope this helps, 73
