I am trying to get my Steppir interface and my ICOM IC756PROII working
together on the same serial CI-V converter so I can also get the Dxbase
interface to work. They need to on the same serial channel so I can control
the rotor from my ICOM and at the same time establish an interface with
Dxbase... now I know this is a little more hardware related than software,
but... I suspect there are a lot of ICOM users who also have Dxbase and
Steppir's, so...

When I have both the Steppir and ICOM connected together, the interface
crashes. I measured the voltage on the Steppir interface and it reads 5v.
Why would this be if it only needs to be on listen only mode? Shouldn't
this just be the input of a gated logic device and not be driving with 5v?
I am wondering if this is why the two won't go together and if I put a
non-inverting TTL gate on the input so it can receive only, would this solve
this problem??

Ideas, or anyone else have solved this problem when trying to use both
Dxbase and the Steppir?
