[Dxbase] record load time

With 25K records on my 1.8G AMD and DXB 2006, it takes about 1 second

When I type a call into my log and hit enter it takes 4 seconds to complete.
I am using dxbase 2007 and the file size is 49,750 records. 

Results were similar with 2005, and 2006 releases. Is this what I should
expect or any ideas on improving the time.? Thanks art w1rzf
