[Dxbase] IC 706 MKIIG - DxB 2006 radio interface

I'm trying to get DxBase 2006 to read frequency and mode into the log from my IC 706 MKIIG. I am using a West Mountain RigTalk USB interface. 
    Can someone please help me with the settings? IC 706 MKIIG settings. DX Base settings. COM port settings.
    Does the frequency and mode information appear in the log constantly, or do I need to enter a contact for it to enter the frequency and mode set on the transceiver?
    Thanks for your help. I've tried a lot of different settings, but the posible permutations are endless. RigTalk sales info says it works with DxBase.
