[Dxbase] HELP finding radio!

After a crash I find I can't get my ICOM 756PRO to communicate with my PC.

I think i have the setup correct and can't figure out what is going on.

I have it hooked up from the serial port on the computer,  COM1 to the remote control jack on the back of the radio.  

I also have a line from an accessory socket on the radio going via a converter to a USB port on the computer.  When I try to use this one it puts the PRO into transmit mode and it stays there until i disable the radio connection.  

Can someone tell me which port I should be using on the radio?
