[Bulk] Re: [Dxbase] Config files

Thanks to everyone for the helpful suggestions. In dxbase 2007, I copied all
of the .co and .ini files from the old machine to the new one. Also copied
the .ini file in the windows folder. Everything came across OK except for
the sizing and layout of the sub-windows, due to the radically different
monitors, video cards, resolutions, etc., but it took only a couple of
minutes to resize the windows and fit them in as they were before. The
fonts, background colors, column layouts, etc. were all fine, so I am a
happy camper. Especially happy because I just worked the VU7 awhile ago on
80M for number 338 on that band. Life is good.

Thanks Jack for chiming in,

But...

Given same machine, which files should/can be transferred?

Given different versions of DxBase (2006->2007), which files should NOT be
transferred?

Guys,

The screen sizes, colors, positions, etc... are stored based on pixel
information retrieved from your video card specifications. I would not
advise trying to copy that info from one machine to another.

As for the .co files..... you can copy them from one machine to another as
long as they were created with the same version of DXbase.

The column/row positions are in the files you mentioned, but these too store

info based on your machine video specs. If you copy them to another
machine, you may experience trouble.

Cheers
