[Dxbase] A newbie again and the FT857D problem

I finally switched to the Windows DXBase after using DXBase from way 
back in the DOS 1.6 version.
I am just hoping my DirecWay satillite will work when we get back down 
to Belize this winter.

I have hooked up my FT-57D to the com1 serial port and after going over 
the settings I have found
so far to set, all I seem to get is my FT-857D goes to a "locked" 
condition. It does not read the
VFOs or mode. Anybody else been through this? I did not see it in the 
archives I have gone through
so far. I will, also, be using my FT-1000MP in Belize and a TS-930S with 
the PIEXX board here
in Indiana.
