[Dxbase] laptop dxpedition import/export

The reason I suggested using a clean log in the laptop and then .adi or DXB exporting it
to the home pc is because ....generally laptops do not as large a hard drive, nor are they
'generally' as fast as a desktop PC.

So the smaller the log, the quicker it will load and save..
If indeed the laptop has smaller hd and slower cpu.

I strongly agree that little usb type JumpDrives are great....
I use them as one of my backup devices.

Now there can be a case for having your entire log on your portable, because then it will
also show you previous qso's with the station you are currently working.

I think it depends on your portable goals. If it's a dxpedition, then you want as fast a
lookup/save as possible. Previous qso's are not a concern. You don't need a callbook on
your laptop.
Same with a contest laptop operation.

A more casual operation like from your summer/winter home...then a full log would probably
be preferable.

You can always do it both ways...clean log on the laptops hard drive and a full log on a
JumpDrive...

good luck..and if by chance you will be going by Scarborough Reef (BS&H), stop for a few
minutes and give me my final entity.....
