The immediate solution to this is to use the free AR-User to maintain 
your Internet connection.  It does all the reconnect stuff for you.  See 
http://www.ve7cc.net/  DXBase connects to it via the localport:7300 and 
AR-User does the connect to your chosen dx cluster.
