[Dxbase] County Hunting

First of all, let me say that I'm a DXBase customer and user since back at
version 3 or 4 of the DOS program. It is all I use for DXing. I don't
think there is a better program out there for this.
I think it is great that folks are adding 'some' support for County Hunting
in DXBase. I think this will help the casual type who is not actively
chasing counties but would like to track them.
That being said, I think there are other programs out there that are better
suited for the Very Active county hunter. I don't know that it is within
the objectives of the DXBase authors to ever duplicate these highly
specialized programs for which there is a limited audience appeal.
I've used a few of the specialized county huting programs in the past. They
do a better job at tracking one's progress and at handling the paperwork
involved. County Hunting is all they are designed to do. I personally
never wanted to mix my counting hunting with my DX chasing....each program
is good at what it was designed to do and I did not want to 'muddy up' one
database with the other.
Please no flames on this....this is just my humble opinion. If anyone is
thinking that I'm trying to intimidate them they are very mistaken.

Subject: [Dxbase] County Hunting Reports
I had received only 2 responces from my last post on this subject. Both
wanted to see additional reports. One of these responces, it was suggested
that the DATE - TIME - BAND - MODE - RST - STATE - COUNTY be listed
alphabetically. I agree, so thats make 3 people would like to see a report.
If I knew how to do this I would program a report and publish it. I do not
know why that some people out there oppose COUNTY HUNTING and any mention of
it on this forum.
Please let your voice be heard here on the forum. If anyone out there is
interested in programming some thing for county hunting there are at least 3
people interested. Please, stand up and be counted. Do not be afraid of
the past and being intimidated!
Keep The Faith, Jim
