[Dxbase] ICOM PW-1 Amp / 756ProII / CT-17 / DXBase

I have been using the ICOM 756PROII, PW-1 amplifier, and DXBase without issue 
for several years.  Here is my arrangement which works for me.

a.  From the computer USB port I go thru a Belkin USB to Serial adapter  The 
cable I am using from the Belkin USB/Serial adapter is the  K1NU ICOM CI-V.

b  The K1NU ICOM CI-V cable plugs into the Belkin adapter and runs to an ICOM 
CT-17 interface box and is plugged into position three (3) on the CT-17.

c.  In position Two (2) on the CT-17 I have a cable running to the PW-1 
connected into the CI-V Remote Control jack on the back of the amplifier.

d.  In position one (1) of the CT-17 box, I connect to the remote CI-V jack 
on the rear of the 756PROII.

I played around for several weeks and was unsuccessful with any other 
arrangement.  What made mine work was going to the K1NU CI-V cable from the computer 
to the CT-17 box.  Several people make aftermarket cable that I am certain 
would work just as well.

It was a very frustrating experience but this arrangement has worked very 
well for several years.
