[Dxbase] Is anyone else interested in tracking Light Houses?

Interesting comments.  Yes it is true there are two separate fields special 
1 and special 2.  But, within these fields there are up to ten alpha/numeric 
characters of your choosing allowed.  So, it gives you hundreds of possible 
unique entries that you could use for whatever special tracking 
possibilities you want.  You decide what special coding you want to use in 
these fields.  For example, if a QSO has some special meaning for you such 
as Lighthouse, you could enter LH into one of the special fields for those 
QSOs.  With this information stored in your QSO record, you could use the 
Award module to get some tracking on this.

You also have a field that allows for a simple checkbox type annotiation 
similar to the YL and QRP flags.  This field provides for two user checkbox 
selections in case you just need a simple flag set for a QSO record.

You also have the power of the selection wizard where you can extract a 
portion of your QSO database based upon filter criteria that you define. 
This extract can be used as the input for the Awards module.

There is also the User Designed Report/list module where you have the 
capability to design your own reports and apply some formula logic.  Perhaps 
this would let you produce whatever tracking you are interested in based on 
your use of the special fields to annotate QSOs of interest.

So in my humble opinion, DXbase already can do a lot more than your comments 
suggest but of course it does require some knowledge about these capabilties 
that are in the software.  But, with any software on planet, it's never 
perfect and there is always something that could be added.  That's what the 
software upgrade process is all about with any product...hihi.... a never 
ending process but I don't agree that this means the authors don't care or 
don't understand.  The trick is to develop those enhancements that will 
appeal to enough customers to make them interested in purchasing the upgrade 
in order to cover the costs of development that go into making an upgrade.
