Hi All,

I've found a solution to the problem of importing adif files without
incurring the leading space in the notes field.

As has been pointed out in previous postings, if you use the "QSO Note
Field" box in the non-DXB Import program you will get a leading space in
your log.

Here is my solution:

1. Load your adif file into your favorite text editing program
(WordPad works fine)

2: Do a search and replace as follows:

a. In 'Find' put:
<EOR>

b. In 'Replace' put:
<COMMENT:XX>your notes <EOR>

For XX put in the number of characters, including spaces, in your note.
Don't
count the needed space at the end of your note.

For example I wanted to import my log from the CQ WW 160 meter contest. So
I wanted to add 'CQWW 160m test'.

Here is my 'Replace':
I have 13 characters in this note including spaces but not counting the
space at the end of my note just before the <EOR>. Don't forget that
space.

3. Not execute your import

Of course you can also use this method to add other fields to your import
adif file.

To see what DXBase's ADIF file structure looks like, do an export.
