Just a little follow up on this, Sam is running his radio interface at 1200
Bd. At this speed things take longer and I guess the default timings are
right on the edge of what will work. On the other hand if you run your rig
at 19200 all the time you may be able to make things faster by reducing the
timing values of pacing and EOF.
Start with pacing, this controls the time between each byte of data sent
to the radio, some radios like the elecraft K2 Buffer data and can work
with pacing=1 I wonder will this work with other modern Kenwoods?
Icom radios don't appear to buffer data well (or at all?)
EOF governs how long DXB waits for a response after sending the command, at
19200 with the pro2 for example you can probably reduce EOF to around 50 or 60
By tinkering with these values you can expect to break the radio interface
at lower speeds so you are on your own..
Back up your radios.ini file before you break anything <G>
