[Dxbase] DXBase: CAT FT-1000MP via USB port ??

Recently I bought a new laptop ( Toshiba Satellite A65). However on this machine there is no COM-port, and 3 USB ports.

To solve this I purchased an adapter USB to COM. However I cannot operate ( via CAT) my FT-1000MP via this adapter.

I  have DXBase2001 and 2005.

Anybody on the list has solved this problem ( for me at least) ??
