[DXBase] Populating the QSL Sent Column

OK Guys, it is getting close to Halloween!
I had tried several variations to try to get it to work. I even cleared =
the
queue and re-entered the QSLs. I thought probably there was a problem =
with
the importing process. It did the same thing.
Well, after your message I cleared the queue again, entered my call in =
the
log, added my call in QSL queue printed the label, pressed "yes" to =
update
the date and it worked! I have done a couple of more tests and they were
successful!
My computer is relatively new, and admittedly I am not very familiar =
with
the Windows XP operating system, but this process has always been a "no
brainer" before. I think that I will shut the system down, open it up =
and
remove any little gremlins that I see hiding in there. Jack, if any say =
they
belong to you, "I'll box'em up and send them to you. :')
Thanks for your help,
Bill, W5VX

Bill,
I can't really answer for what you are seeing. But, I did test this =
here
and see that it does work exactly as it should. After processing the =
print
job, the software does ask if you want to update the QSL sent and if you
answer yes, it does do it correctly in our test. There must be =
something
you are overlooking but I'm not sure what it could be.
Regards
Courtney

Thanks Mal,
This will indeed populate the date field when you press the label =
button.
This works fine for me when I am responding to a big pile from the =
bureau
but... When I am operating and I work a station that I really want a =
card
from I usually just hit the label button to store the label in the queue =
for
printing later. Once every month or two I print these cards and send the
out.
In the past with DXBase 2002 and 2003, after printing out the labels a
message would pop up and say, "Do you want to update the QSL date sent =
field
in the QSO records for the labels just printed?" I would click yes and
today's date would be placed in the QSL sent field. This would =
accurately
reflect the date I sent the QSLs and not the date I worked the station. =
With
my new 2004 version, I click yes and nothing happens.
I was wondering if this was setting I have missed or if maybe this is
broken?

Hello Bill,
You need to check "Populate QSLS on Label Save" in the
Tools/Options/Log
Defaults. That should fix it

After importing my log to DXB 2004, uneventfully, I decided to do my =
QSLing
for the month. I had to do a little modifying to the label but that went =
ok
too. I printed the labels and selected that I wanted DXBase to update =
the
QSL sent column. The labels printed fine but no update of the QSL sent
column. I have done this many times with DXB 2003 without a problem.
I hope this is nothing more than cockpit problems on my part, but I =
didn't
see anything in the help files.
